For people making Custom Battles there are ways to make the CPU more difficult beyond just giving guys Heals! You can give them items and change their behavior on how they fight that favors those buffs, I would also say its more fun to make difficult fights with multiple characters rather than just one big boss you have to loop 90 times in a row so there is more verity in who you're fighting. I'd also suggest including more cinematic events in battles to make them more interesting, such as hidden characters entering the battle, or triggering debuffs on the players character to keep them from cheezing fights. You can get really creative in how battles work in this game, so be better than just stacking heals!

I'm personally doing a mix of both. I'm switching between doing story centric custom battles with fixed characters and something akin to themed boss rushes to simulate mission 100 from BT3 with free choice slots. I'm giving them cpu specific strategies & items that resonate with how they fight in canon.

@@EternalStorm796 I've mainly been doing story based missions based on the idea that saiyans don't exist and Dr. Gero and the androids become the protectors of Earth instead, first mission was just a fight against Demon King Piccolo ( Normal Piccolo since the original isn't in the game yet ) as a practice match for my friends who don't play Android characters, the rest have been a mix of team battles against the Frieza Force and boss fights against King Cold and Frieza. One of them had the cut scene based instant kill attack programmed in so when Rhyme had that in his boss raid with Goku I was laughing knowing he 100% did accidentally put that into the mission without knowing that the "Unblockable attack" part actually meant its completely unavoidable.

Some tips for the super counter ( up+attack) the window you have to do it is within 4 frames of getting hit and you don't have to tap up every time you can hold up and it'll still count instead of trying to time the up press with the attack press

I don’t think many people realize how much you can restrict the player in custom battles. You can ban them from using ultimates, transforming, maybe even going into sparking. You can put debuffs on a player for missing the ultimate, as Rhyme did in a previous video, but you can also put massive debuffs on someone for even using their ultimate. Or you could, say, program the AI to respond in a whole variety of ways, like responding with their own ultimate.

Rhyme I think one of the best Z capsules for difficulty scaling is the one that increases damage of consecutive normal attacks. It gives you a chance to dodge but if you get comboed you are dead. I think that kind of approach is going to be better for the health of custom battles than the war of attrition with limitless health bars.

When they get knocked back and stop themselves from flying to hit you, that’s a revenge counter. It’s a mechanic, not an invisible wall. If you do the training, it teaches you that you can counter revenge counters by pressing B or the equivalent at the right time.

The issue I see with these stories is yes, the dialogue options look like they would take a lot of time to find just the right thing. The other thing is, there doesn't seem to be a way to ACTUALLY make enemies that difficult other than just making them endurance matches where the enemy heals over and over and over again.

We don't need to do "full power --> full square combo --> Ult. You just can do it, but you can use the variations using triangle into a grab, use a super and then do the ult. But again, the game is pretty new so we're all learning

That was a pretty long video about Dino having issues with the game purely because he thought playing BT3 means its fine to skip the tutorial. Its also pretty mickey to say “all we have to do is spam Sparking mode and we win custom battles”. Well, no, because you didn’t win doing that. But even if it would be true, you still have the option to not do that and fight without it. Sparking mode is already pretty impossible to get in ranked unless the opponent is bad or you have a skill that instantly activates it, so it shouldn’t be any weaker.

Every character has a number of hits where if they’re sparking and they exceed that hit and your still mashing it will drop. It’s consistent. Every character is different, but usually the magic number is around 20-25. Some have more (Burter goes nuts because he already usually goes to 60 in his normal combos lol) and some have less. Some don’t combo in sparking at all, like Mr. Satan and Guldo

Rhyme, how about if you make a Custom Battle against, say, the Ginyuu Force for Seereax or Deon to beat? Something truly absurd, like the final Ginyuu battle has him with only one health bar but start with max ki and unblockable and unmissable special? Like, say GInyuu was just waiting for this chance, so as soon as he enters the field this happens just as your character gets full health back up. Give all the other GInyuu force members two extra life bars, start with max ki, something like that. Heck, make it where Babidi is empowering them for this one fight or something
