As someone who’s only started playing Yu-Gi-Oh and picking the Blue Eyes deck and getting a lot of the fusions for Blue Eyes, the sink or swim nature is both entertaining and infuriating, bricked five games in a row so now I better understand a bit of the thought process of these games. @@nthatodibodu2280 For me I play a lot of combo pieces on my Synchron Deck for the sole purpose of getting certain cards into the grave so I can play the Grave as my second deck in a sense. They can negate anything they want and I can still summon something. I'm actually thinking of adding Firewall Dragon just to shutdown shit like Xyz and Dragonmaids in particular. I actually play a 60 Card Ritual version of Blue Eyes deck it can still brick very hard but if I get a single ritual card and the spell with Blue-Eyes I can go into Chaos Max and crush anyone trying to abuse traps or use a ton of stall defense.

PRO TIP: since blue eyes is more of a going second deck you definitely SHOULD run kaijus. They tribute your opponents monsters and they can’t even negate it because it’s cost for the summon AND it does not use your normal summon. Your welcome

Hilarious back to back bricks on both sides, both players countering each other's moves and having surprise field wipes I mean it was pretty even and super entertaining. I think it was a great round. Well, if you hate when your opponent summons from the Extra deck as much as I do you can run Dogmatika. They became my main "competitive" deck and have proven to be pretty decent, especially with Link Lyna to take control of any of the light monsters you send to the graveyard.

I set a card, put a monster in defense... it wiped my field and set out a few double attacking monsters after spending some time synchro summoning. Storming Mirror Force is something I like to tech in if I can't find anything else I want to run in a deck. I only ran regular mirror force in my first days of playing this game, before I learned how many cards have destruction protection. Storming is good for getting rid of troublesome Special Summoned monsters and Extra deck monsters because it returns cards to the hand. It's non-targeting, non-destruction so not many cards have a defense against that. Quaking seems like it could be decent too, since not many cards have defense against getting flipped face-down since it's non-targeting non-destruction. Both are stopped by cards that say "unaffected by other cards' card effects" or something like that, but thankfully that's still *somewhat* rare nowadays.

You must hate poor Rhyme, HERO's is one of the MOST expensive decks to build. Also, as a long term HERO enthusiast, you only win against meta with HERO's if they brick or mess up their combos.

@@Zeromaru42 This isn't 2012, there's no such thing. At best you could dump a bunch of floodgates on a deck and put a Warrior engine with HEROs on top. The problemn is, you don't have that many interactions with HERO's. To date the best board I've seen in Heroes against meta was: Apollousa with 4 negates, Dark Law and 2 Mask Changes set(going first). Edit: Ironically, the best answer to meta HERO's have is Super Poly, but you have to put a few useless shits in the Extra Deck like, The Shining(for Drytrons).

Lol. Those can be either really annoying to go against or really fun to break through. Like I fought one defensive exodia deck with Toons and obviously bypassed their defenses and attacked directly. But another Exodia deck actually managed to FTK me with some crazy Bamboo card combos. Dude drew like over half his deck the first turn and got Exodia. Lol. So either fun to beat or horrible to face. Haha.

I like building decks that feature cool cards like Egyptian God's or Sacred Beasts. I also really like Mayakashis and I have a toon deck also. My DarkLord deck got me to Platinum 5 for the first time. They have really cool card art.

@@lucifermorningstar8562 So, you basically use buzzsaw shark to special summon right hand shark. Right hand shark makes it so an XYZ monster can't be destroyed by battle and Crooked Cook is unaffected by other card effects. The only way to out it is Kaijus, effect damage, or direct attacks.

I use dragon maid and It heavily relies on the effects of the monsters so just do everything in your power to negate monster effects when ever you can i have lost many times due to not being able to use my effects

I had a total heart of the cards moment the other day when I played against Blue Eyes. The player had this one trap card active which prevented me from targeting the dragons with effects, and there were 4 different dragons out on the field with 3000-4000 atk. I had no cards in my hand or on the field and had accepted defeat, only to pull the one card in my deck which let me flip the duel around and win. I was running Raidraptors and got Rank Up Magic Soul Shave Force, which let me summon an Xyz monster which destroyed his backrow, and their trap destroys all blue eyes once it gets destroyed, so I just attacked and won the duel. Super satisfying comeback.

I’d recommend you try out Salamangreat at some point in the future. It’s a good introduction to mastering the Link mechanic and a really solid and fun combo deck (Totally not biased tho just cause it’s my favorite deck and what got me back into the game NOPE). Either that or Dragon Link for the same reasons plus it’s got kinda a similar play-style to Blue-Eyes.

Dragunity for the Dragon solidarity! I love that deck to bits and I'm always happy to see others play the deck. Dragunity Remus is such a sick card to get plays rolling and Dragunity Knight - Barcha lets you summon so many dragons at once its insane. Its a really cool combo deck that instead of trying to end on 5000 negates just summons every gigantic dragon under the sun to crush your opponent!

Git gud, there's a ton of things you can do to stop your opponent from going off, to name a few, Ash Blossom, Imperm, Effect Veiler, Nibiru, Maxx C, Ghost Belle and Droll, if your opponent already has an established board, Dark Ruler No More and Forbidden Droplet are fantastic for that, Kaiju's too.

I just like running my favorite decks. I could care less about what’s the meta. I see no fun in just running what everyone else is running because you know it’s good. Dark magicians and Heroes have always been my favorite so I have those decks. I have interest in making Cyber Dragon, Harpie, and Toon Decks. I kind of want to make a stardust dragon deck. You can definitely make it to platinum with that deck, might just take a bit of time and luck! If you go second in this game it’s almost always over unless you have a handtrap. I got to platinum with only using dark magician, got to learn my deck better and the matchups as I kept running into them (like sky striker, tri brigade, etc)
