You can never go wrong with Japan! Couple of weeks in Tokyo, another couple for Osaka/Kyoto/Hiroshima. Dont just stick to the cities - the countryside is beautiful too!

Thailand & don't just go to Bangkok (though I do know a gymnastics gym there, if you want visit it while traveling - you'd certainly inspire the younglings)! Definitely eat all the street food. Also Thai cooking classes you can take. Tons of Thai massage (be wary of places that line up the 'masseuses' outside). Railay/Ao Nang is gorgeous, plus some cool climbing over the water. Chiang Mai in the north is lovely; lots of Buddhist temples & statues. Also can easily pop over to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. I haven't been to Taiwan yet, but it's on the list. As are Japan & Singapore.

Great video! When thinking about AirBnB vs a rental consider the time involved. With both you'll have regular maintenance and repairs but with irBnB there is a lot more day to day work, housekeeping, laundry, booking, etc.. My sister spent a couple weeks with me and I was surprised how much time she spent dealing with her places. Just something to consider. BTW, if you ever want to travel to Alaska I can get you a family discount on her places. :)
