Hey, Mike! I just want to tell you that I really enjoy your channel. As a drummer, I follow all of the big tutors on KZbin and have been ever since KZbin was born. I’ve followed Drumeo, Stephen Taylor, Mike Johnston, Jeff Randall, and tons of other really good online instructors. I have got to say that I enjoy your channel the most. I don’t know why, maybe it’s because you are brief and to the point and only say what needs to be said and you say it quickly, thereby not wasting time and you jump right into it. Your videos are short and to the point and I cannot believe how much I take away from every single one of them. You remind me much of my high school band teacher. I started playing drums as a young kid in the late 60s and took a 17 year break during the 1980s and early 90s and then got neck deep back into it. The learning never ends. I like your approach to the grade levels and the way you assign grade levels to the covers you teach. You may not have all of the technical recording gear and multi camera angles for KZbin channel teaching, but I will tell you this, you are by far one of the best teachers and you DO NOT need all of that fancy stuff. You are doing outstanding just the way you are. I look forward to your videos every day. Whether they are easy, or grade 8 complex, I seem to be taking so much away from every one of your videos. Anytime I pick up something new from your channel, and drill it into my repertoire, I’m going to buy you a coffee as I have already. I am a 62-year-old hopeless drumoholic. US Navy drum and bugle corps, blues bands, classic rock bands, and gospel bands. Been doing it my whole life and will continue to until I cannot physically do it anymore! Thanks for all you been have giving away to us!!!👍😉

Thanks man, much appreciated! So glad you're digging the channel and finding it useful. I talked about the production values side of making these videos in the recent interview I did with Taryn Arnold from Buy Me A Coffee: kzbin.info/www/bejne/joitoYx9gNVrqZI Whilst I think higher production values/multiple cameras at the appropriate time can be great, and will become more of a thing as this channel progresses (thanks to the support of its viewers), I've always believed that the content itself is the thing that makes a video compelling or not, and will always be the focus of this channel. Cheers man!

I totally agree with you the seeing the sheet music is beneficial. I really good example is Avery drummer doing Rush. He plays along to the sheet music and It’s like a light comes on. To me it makes things so clear. Maybe you could do something similar? Thanks a lot man! Your great, love your videos.

This is such a awesome concept I certainly remember doing stuff like this when I was getting started on drums back in the day I think my first year my practice pretty much only consisted of just improvising and jamming along with songs I would definitely typically do stuff like this it was actually Oso a dua lipa drum cover that inspired me to start drumming back then so I guess this is pretty fitting Ahh certainly takes me back to the beginning good memories

This drum track is completely disco and built around the upbeats, but you're playing it like a 4 on the the floor pop song. Why?
