Hellriegel was #2 in the most used weapons category and the gun is locked behind a Level 10 wall. 60 round per mag, damage is good, hip fire is god and the range is good as well. The thing is like an AR/SMG/LMG combo it is stupid.

Robert Rintala the launch for bf4 was a glitchy mess, crashes- hitreg etc... Bf1 didn't have crazy bugs but doesn't have any good content, there are about 4-5 guns per class and no cool gadgets compared to the 100+ guns in bf4 and a lot of gadgets... and the progression on bf4 made it feel like you were earning something

The mcRib really suits me well, I usually dont do that well with assault, getting maybe a 1.25 kd/r, the range ability on this helps me to get an increase of. 25-1. I guess it comes down to play style, where you seem to be a little more Frontline aggressive than I am. :-)

I can see the lack of content is a big problem and i too wish there would be more custimization, skins and unlockables that show your skill rather than luck, still it's an awesome and fun game to play like it was in the first few weeks.

Why do people say the automatico is op? It has low range, barely any bullets so you can't go overkill, TONS of recoil, and lots of reloading which will get you killed.

The Automatico is a beast at close quarters because of its high rate of fire. The Automatico Storm is particularly effective because of its really good hipfire, meaning you can shoot it pretty accurately without aiming down the sights, sometimes up to 100m away.

"you just can't maintain the accuracy".... Fire 5 rounds, release the trigger, get the sights back on target, fire 5 rounds..... Perfect accuracy. Just holding down the trigger tends to get bad results not just because of the accuracy drop but because people tend to move while the shooter has a hard time tracking through all the flash and smoke. Controlling everything winds up with usually much better results. Honestly the Ribroyalles is the only assault weapon I can consistently get a headshot kill with, which is done using the afore mentioned strategy.

Ugh that forced bullet deviation is so obnoxious in this game. It only benefits bad players because it prevents players with great recoil control from being accurate at range with weapons at further ranges. Why'd DICE have to change the fundamentals of the gunplay from BF4 in BF1?

Because DICE wanted to avoid the situation from BF3 and BF4 where assault rifles could dominate up close as well as at long range due to a player simply tap firing as fast as they can. The bullet deviation forces players to play at the ranges which the weapon was designed for instead of trying to go for long range shots with SMG's. Whats more, spread for SMG's works by having a smaller spread increase the further you fire, meaning that the spread still increases (unlike the LMG's where it decreases), but at a slower rate each time. This is to stop tap firing and micro bursting. The player is incentivized to fire 5-6 bullets before ceasing fire and waiting for the spread to come down. I would suggest you watch MarbleDuck's video on the spread mechanics in BF1 as it really show how balanced the system is compared to previous Battlefields

Well in Battlefront, there was hardly any recoil and there was no bullet drop, since you were using blasters. I wish that Battlefield 1 rewarded players for managing the recoil by, say, tap firing high-recoil guns rather than just making you place your crosshair on a target, holding the trigger, and hoping that RNG does the rest. I wish the gun mechanics were more similar to BF4.

"To stop tap-firing and micro-bursting" Why would we want to stop this? It makes so much more sense to tap fire a weapon and have that be more accurate than firing a 6 round burst. The solution shouldn't be to allow randomness to determine whether you hit your target or not--it should be to increase the recoil on SMGs, decrease the random spread, and reduce the damage at range even more. That way you can still hit your target if you're good enough, but you aren't going to be destroying people at long range with the SMGs. I think the PDWs and Carbines worked well in BF4 with this type of system. Oh, and MarbleDuck is a pretentious cock.

I play Conquest on Xbox and this weapon is absolutely amazing. The bipod is what gives it powerful accuracy and control you'll never want to shoot it standing up again unless you want to. For those that like to play BF1 running around like you're smoking crack are easy pickings for those that set up the best angles with this gun in the prone. Defense and offense this gun is king since you also have that AT as your secondary. The medium to longer range accuracy and control for this gun is also great even on moving targets when you lead them correctly. The bipod is what gives you so much range accuracy and control compared to an mp18 or automatico. With a stealthier play style theres no beating this gun.

I can't help but notice a distinct lack of interest by a lot of the big BF channels. Matimio Lvl , jackfrags and even xfactor rarely turn out BF content on a regular basis. Mat pretty much only does Rainbow Six these days. In my opinion the mechanics of the game let it down for stalwart BF players. It takes an age to load a game and nearly as long to quit it. I personally only play it occasionally and I've been a BF fan since BF 2. I feel Dice has lost its way a little and goes for looks over content. such a shame.

I find the loading much faster on Xbox One when I use an external hard drive, which is weird, dunno what it's like for you PC guys. I'm a fan of Bad Company 2, 3, 4 and even Hardline, and the Bolt actions are interesting in BF1, but otherwise the game is a little lackluster compared to past titles. I feel as if this new weapon would have been balanced better if it was given to the medic class, which may sound weird, but I imagine DICE limited the new weapons effectiveness at range, because it was given to the Assault Class. Medic class needs more short range options as that's where they'll be if they are actually doing their job right.

Not by much though. It's a horrible mechanic on the LMG's though that they added in particular, reverse spread doesn't work too well with the overheat function, or in the BAR's case, a high fire rate with a small magazine.

Fo comparison's sakes, it's worth remembering that the AK-47 fires a 7.62x39mm cartridge, while the Ribeye uses an 8x35mm cartridge. Just going by those numbers, the Ribeye qualifies for "intermediate cartridge weapon" and can arguably be called an assault rifle if used in an aggressive tactical manner.

Hay thanks for putting this up the ribeyrolles was a potentially amazing weapon. Since this gun no longer exists it's hard to find any footage of it I found this video from watching the forgotten weapons video about it. Also I think today this gun could be made if americans could own open bolt guns but it would probably have to be chambered in 30-.30.

Do you guys remember in BF4 when they brought back maps from BF3 in the Second Assualt DLC? I think it would be cool if they brought back BF4 maps in BF1, but changed it a little bit to look like the 1920's. Golmud railway for example would be a great map to do that for.

This is the gun I've been waiting for and I can't wait to use it. I like going against armored, but I also don't run around in the trenches that much. Setting up my bipod with a little run and gunning is exactly what I want to do. We'll see how this gun goes

this is for sure going to be my gun of choice for assault class. I've always gotten annoyed by not being able to kill people medium to longer range with assault so i rarely pick it anymore. I think the new support gun may end up being one of my favorites too. Im really excited for this dlc.

I love this gun. The speaker in this video doesn't understand the defensive value of the bi-pod. Place down a few mines and pin point fire at incoming troops. It's like a cross between a support and anti tank class.

Factory variants have better recoil/spread recovery so if you want to be accurate you have to do bursts at range or use the bipod.

For my playstyle the Ribeyrolles is the second best gun in the game(close second to the Parabellum), I honestly believe it's too overpowered. But I'm glad other people suck with it so it won't ever get nerfed, and I can just dominate with this weapon.

Like it or not, bullet spread is necessary. If the assault weapons were more accurate everyone would use assault, just like in BF4. And it makes sense, because these weapons weren't very accurate. They're still very effective.

Personally, i find the high bullet spread to be good. Automatic weapons weren't as good as they are now. So you'll expect them to be that way, even if it adds some randomness..
