The whole reason Flair had to leave Charlotte after 40 years was he couldnt beg, borrow, or steal another dime from the local businesses. He owed literally millions to suit makers, fine dining, bars, lawyers, etc. He had dozens of lawsuits filed against him. The guy is a complete deadbeat who has no problem walking out on even friends when it comes time to pay them back.

Flair became his own mark, just like Savage. They believed they were the characters they portrayed in the ring and acted like them in real life. I can certify this about Savage from personal experience. Another guy who fell into this fantasy is Dick Slater. In the case of Buzz Sawyer, he created his ring character from his real life.

I remember the Feinstein story clearly. It was on the local news in the Philly area at the time it happened. Ric Flair stiffing Cary Silkin on the 41K was pretty well known at the time too as that story made its way around a lot of the wrestling news sites back then. Think it was around 2009 if I'm not mistaken.

It's sad to see how some of the greatest icons of the wrestling business are aging so ungracefully. For different reasons, Flair and Hogan have gone from the greatest draws of the boom period of the 80s and the national expansion to being an embarrassment for wrestling fans. Luckily, the stars of the 90s learned that lesson and Steve Austin, Brett Hart, Sting...are a lot more responsible.

@ainaa-m2n that doesn't surprise me. Most people can feel the energy of someone and tell you whether a person is good or bad. Flair is not only a financial con man, but he's a professional con man too. He's convinced people he's the GOAT of pro wrestling but if you go back and watch his stuff, he sucks. Sure, he can talk well but I'm purely talking in ring work. He worked hard but got exposed in his original WWF run in 1991. Flair had a formula and it failed miserably in the WWF run he had and exposed him as a bad worker.

@@GarrettS-eb5ow Flair had things like ring psychology down with working over the legs to set up his figure four. But, as many have pointed out, if you've seen one Flair match then you've seen them all. Yes, you can say that about many people who do the same match over and over. But, Flair's matches have been totally boring to me especially the older 60 minute draws. I can watch an old Roddy Piper match or an older Mr. Perfect match or anyone else from that time and it's still fun to watch. Go back and watch an old Flair match and I dare you to try your hardest not to fall asleep. Flair's 60 minute "Broadways" as he likes to call them are the cure for even most extreme cases of insomnia.

It's simple. People get unhappy or have bad thoughts. Social media makes it too easy to express these thoughts. That's all they are. Thoughts from an unhappy person. No need to micro analyze, then shit on the already unhappy person. People need to get off their high horses. We all feel shit from time to time

If you're begging for sympathy there then beg somewhere else. Flair is the architect of his own unhappiness, and if he's posting it publicly then people have a right to comment. Maybe he should uninstall social media from his phone and stop whining.

Flair is a crazy person outside the business. But in every aspect of the business as a wrestler Flair is 100000x better than Dutch.

I dont think Ric can control it. It seems like the brain damage or dementia. I remember when my grandfather started with it. He would go off about stuff from decades prior that just had a lasting effect that were still in his brain somewhere. It sounded like utter nonsense that nobody obviously understood. Its what happens and I better understand a lot more about that stuff since I became a hypnotherapist and practioner of NLP and spent so much time studying the brain, its functions and how it operates. He said it wasnt about this woman and just about an old deal from years ago that he cant stop thinking about. Demtia and those afflictions similar to that. They tend to remove filters and clarity

I felt like the only one who never cared for Flair. I acknowledge he’s in the top 5 of all time, but only because I grew up hearing that he was. That’s the only reason I acknowledge him. He’s not in my top 10. I don’t care for the guy.

Flair should have concentrated more on his marriages instead of wasting money. I still say he was overrated. I grew up watching world of sport and we had far better wrestlers in Britain
