If it is to be his last race, then like many I feel that RB should be ashamed of how they have handled this. Dan loves America and even has a house there, so COTA is like a second home race. To truley say that he is a big part of the RB family, then they should at least ask Liberty and the FIA to allow him to drive 5 laps in his last RB car at COTA as a fitting gesture. Also just for the stats if you are going to replace him, let him get to 260 starts. Also, even though some would say that Liam could score points in the remaining races to help VCARB out and that is true, firing Dan is that any way to treat a member of the family? Let him finish out the season with pride and dignity. Over they years that he drove for RB, he has helped in wining constructor's titles. I know that is what he was paid for, but sometimes there should be a heart and soul to teams. To most if Singapore was his last race then RB has none.

Ricciardo's wife is Berger's daughter. Berger is the 1st ever person in sport who did sponsorship for Red Bull, and for free when he was a pilot. Ricciardo has been put back in F1 under an agreement with him and Helmut Marco (very good friends). Marco knew before hand the asimetric brakes will be banned. He wanted Checo out! He was also fighting against Horner for Red Bull's power at the time. Bringing Daniel back without asimetric brakes, was a perfect plan. They removed De Vriij just like that and bringed Ricciardo (who was alrrady finished). Note: Perez is the one that can beat Verstappen on a track. The only pilot on doing so. Albon had his chance as well against Max, Gasly had his too. None came close to Max. Perez is the only one able to give him fights. Marco made sure Perez could not fight Verstappen several times. And in 2023, they kept Max with asimetric brakes and Perez without, from Miami 2023 until the end of the 2023 season. Then in 2024 they had this system on Max's car on at least 6 races! This is why Perez's performance at Red Bull was poor. He's been driving a car made for asimetric brakes without asimetric brakes. Ricciardo was perfect fit. Perez removed from F1 and you bring a pilot that you know cannot challenge Max. Thanksfully, Horner won the internal battle at Red Bull and now Ricciardo is out. Ricciardo was amazing with older cars. He never adapted to these new cars and nobody wanted him back at F1, except Helmut Marco and the fans of Ricciardo (you knew it was over). Perez will shine! When given a proper car and same specs as Max, he is on the same pace as Max and actually beats Max! That's what Marco is afraid of. Because he set up Max as a GOAT of F1. Max is an amazing driver, but he is not above others. He was 20 seconds behind Norris in Holland and Singapore and could not offer a fight because he did not have asimetric brakes. Checo in Singapore came from Baku with an amazing set up and after P2 he had great sensations. Next day in P3, his set up has been changed and he could not do anything else. In quali, he was introduced to the track with ice cold tires. Still many things wrong at Red Bull. Once normalized, and with Ford motors, we will see that Perez is on par with Max. Maybe they won't fight the championship. But their times and pace will be close. Red Bull cannot hide the use of asimetric brakes on Max's Car Miami 2023 - SPA 2024.

If there is not a seat available in F1 then a WEC drive might be a good fit, given he has previously said he is not keen on ovals which potentially rules out Indycar and NASCAR. A WEC drive would allow him to utilise his commercial value and gain solid experience that he could also leverage for one off drives in Sebring 12 Hr, Daytona 24 Hr, Bathurst 12 Hr and Bathurst 1000. Less events on the WEC calendar mean he could do select media work at a couple of grand prix to get experience there. Then with a few seasons in closed cabin cars if he wants to slow down he would be a great option for select marquee events on both sides of the Atlantic as 3rd driver etc leaning more heavily into the media work if that is what he wants to do plus Red Bull ambassador role similar to David Coulthard.

Firing Perez and replacing him with Danny makes no sense, it is replacing like for like. Yuki has destroyed Danny even though he has had 3+ mechanical DNFs this year, therefore it would be logical to promote Yuki not Danny. Red Bull need a decent second driver if they want to challenge for the constructors in the future. maybe Russell or Lando makes the most sense as both good but maybe lack a little consistency therefore not putting too much pressure onto Max.

DR didn't perform at Renault?? Soundly beat his team mates (Hulk and Ocon) and Renault bothered to develop the car to suit his style, even got them onto the podium. He performed well enough for McLaren to want him, they just had a car that their computers said was quick but didn't go well with DR's driving style. Yes, he did not adapt at all. Speaking of McLaren, they have been amazing since they dumped their designer (James Key). The current situation, well that is just business. Checo brings in a lot of cash to RB and F1 in general in the next few races and the RB group do not want to lose Lawson.

Hello @mortenesbjoern2028, Here are some of my thoughts. I do wonder why Red Bull did not officially announce Danny's retirement. Maybe something had happened during the Singapore weekend for Red Bull to delay the announcement. With McLaren now leading the Constructors standings by a bigger margin, Red Bull needs to change things quickly to enable them to have a chance of winning this year's Constructors Championship. Perez finished tenth in Singapore (qualified 13th) and is eighth in the Driver standings. He is under-performing in the Red Bull car (Max 331 points to Perez 144). Wonder if Tsunoda will replace Perez, and Liam Lawson steps into the Vcarb team and partner with Danny for the remainder of the season??? Cheers.

Riccardo was one of the main reasons why Visa and other sponsors joined VCarb, he had the potential to join Red Bull but I don't think he is an upgrade on Perez. Not sure if he's a downgrade either. Yuki doesn't seem to be trusted enough by Red Bull, so I doubt he gets promoted, and with Honda leaving then Yuki might need to find a new team soon. It'll be interesting to see what happens

plus he did it on the very last lap which is literally the most grip of any lap for the entire weekend. So with fresh tires on the grippiest lap with no weight, yeah he can set the fastest lap, even Stroll could do it under those condition. Actually who am I kidding, Stroll couldn't do it , but hopefully you get my point. Anyways, sad to see him go, I have been rooting for him, I actually like him more now as he has been humbled quite a bit, so I was rooting for him to have a good comeback story. Been rooting for Perez also, but don't think that ship is going to sail.
