As a community member, I love this Open, especially 24.2. The Games is for the Elite, the Open is for everyone. The Elite still shine bright in the Open. We get to do the same workout as them though, and their scores amaze us because we’ve been through it too.

I think the games athletes connection to media and the community is super important and CF would benefit from building a team to develop this. Would be great to have more content and touch points like, "Road to the Games" and the "Invitational" and building strategies to connect athletes to the L1 seminars and affiliates.

Now this is what I remember Crossfit being all about. Doesn't matter how good you are at Crossfit but how it can change your health and life. All sports will have their greats. Social media is twofold. It can bring people together positively and negatively. It is what each individual wants to take away with to their hearts and believe in. Y'all are awesome!!🤗

I've seen several different strategies work for 10+ rounds scores on 24.2. It's a pretty unique workout when you really break it down in terms of where individuals can be successful and/or where you could fall apart if you're not careful. Im with you Rich that it is a lot of hinging and jumping in back to back weeks, but the movements are different enough and the intensity of each movement and time domain makes the workout so different that I'm not sure that it matters that much. Now that we know the final workout too it helps seeing the whole picture
@CFProjectMayhem10 ай бұрын
Now that we can see the whole picture, do you think less people would criticize the programming if weeks 2 & 3 were reversed? Maybe we'll discuss on the podcast next week

Great podcast. When it comes to the Sport of Fitness, the competition phases themselves there still has to be space for conversation and criticism of the process. To say athletes or people who pay to compete year after year should be silent because you don’t like what they have to say or you think it takes away from bringing people into the community isn’t the solution. There’s zero accountability in that. Our community has strengthened over the past decade despite these Open issues. Maybe the solution is the Sport of Fitness needs to separate from CrossFit . I don’t know, but I do know that the people in the affiliates are who is bringing people in the community and keeping the community alive.

Great discussion, CrossFit has more synergy nowadays and has the good, the bad - community and elites - the games and the health aspect. Everything that happened was necessary for where it is now. CrossFit isn’t no longer “CrossFit HQ” - it’s now accessible on so many other platforms and become a broader community.

I hope someone sees this. The trope that Crossfit gets people hurt is sorta true. I went to an xfit gym. I was really unfit with multiple old injuries and illnesses. I was very clear with all of them on this. What you have for trainers are people who really havent been in those shoes. They really don't know if I am able to do something I ask them if I should. They say yes. It is not their fault. I ended up with hypoxia a number of times and then I lowered my own intensity and reps and scaled lower on my own. The people in the gym were wo derful. The instructors were also wonderful people. They just haven't really understood something they Think they understand. Maybe headquarters should teach something about getting us like the lady in the Mayhem spotlight person.
