He's stomped on players, kicked them in the nuts, choked guys, punched teammates...it just goes on; he probably should have been suspended other times, too. The NBA has to do this, because he's a nightmare for the public image of the league--and Adam Silver won't have that. He's a large guy, and could have concussed Nurk, or seriously hurt someone.

Barkley said it best in an interview with Dan Patrick ... when Charles was at the end of his career, he knew he couldn't play like he used to ... he started playing dirty. Of the 6 suspensions that Draymond has, as surprising as it sounds, 4 of the 6 have happened in the last 10 months. My guess is that Green realizes he's on the downward slide, and so the dirty play, even for him, has gone up big time, so much that he's been suspended FOUR TIMES in 10 months over 2 seasons.

It is time to begin discussing the failure of Stere Kerr and Warriors ownership/management to handle this situation. Are the Warriors really better with Green? Would they have gotten better value by trading him away? How much does his behavior negatively impact the productivity of the rest of the team? Does Green's misconduct raise the level of play of his teammates, or does it bring it down? Does the argument that his "enthusiasm" motivates his peers continue to have any credibility? How many championships have the Warriors last by keeping Green on the team? Kerr and Warriors leadership seem to be dropping the ball.

He cost them only 1 championship, 2016. Besides that when he is on the court he is a huge contributor. This man has won multiple DPOTYs and facilitates the whole offense. Last year could’ve been different but they were not winning the title without Wiggins and GP2 and who missed practically the whole season. Also, I don’t think anyone was getting through the healthy Nuggets last year. He’s not costing them a title this year, they’re kinda terrible minus their bench and Steph.

They have certainly lost the ability to control him and it’s gone way too far but to question his on court credentials is foolish. The lost a championship in 2016 because he was suspended but that wasn’t the only reason. He dropped 35 in game 7 and had phenomenal play when on the court. They don’t win in their other championship years without him either. They needed his defense/size to throw at lebron in 2015. They wouldn’t have gotten past the rockets teams because if he wasn’t there it would’ve been Javale McGee or Zaza getting cooked on iso switches not to mention they always went into PnR late and when the trap came it dropped into him to play 4 on 3. 2022 Celtics continuously played curry 1 on 1 or in drop and let him shoot over the top. Historically everyone else would trap but they decided they’d rather let curry shoot than let Draymond attack 4 on 3s downhill. His antics are childish and embarrassing but his level of play cannot be questioned

The Warriors have been coddling this guy too long. I'm a fan and have seen all this from close up. This has been happening for over 7 years. They tolerated the bad because of all the good. He cost the team a championship by first kicking Adams in the nuts and taking LeBron's bait, putting the team out of whack for games 5-7. Granted, Steph was playing hurt from slipping in Houston and then they lost Bogut, but he opened the floodgates of the collapse. When times got awkward with Durant, he blew up the relationship. When the team should have been on a title defense, he put a dark cloud over the team by punching Jordan Poole, which over a year later is still hanging over the team. Bob Myers was wise to get out before having to face the music of the team dysfunction.

If you are truly a fan you recognize his intensity on the court played a huge part in building a modern NBA dynasty and winning 4 titles. Is it old and tired, for sure. FWIW, I suspect almost every other person in the Warriors organization wanted to punch Poole in the mouth and were happy someone finally did. The dude got a huge bag of money and would not shut up. His perfomance in DC is exactly who he would have continued to be with GS.

@@gregrizzo8054 so delusional. It doesn't matter if he was too cocky for his own right or not, he was a young player in your organization who helped win you a championship the previous season and he didn't deserved to get sucker punched by someone he considered to be one of his vets. And then to top it off, Steve Kerr addresses the media and doesn't support Poole at all - in fact the only thing Kerr was concerned about was how the video got leaked. What message does that send to guys like Kuminga and Moody? It says that the vets legacy is more important than the current team and that the young players have to bend over backwards in order to not step on the older player's ego...

@@gregrizzo8054 Fights happen in practice all the time and that's completely normal and acceptable within the team. Sucker punches for being called an expensive back pack to Steph probably crossed the line. He is a bully and his intensity is fine within the game until he becomes a dirty player which is where he is increasingly. The only reason he continues to do so is because the Warriors enable most of it and because there are no more enforcers in the league to stop him. Suspensions mean nothing to him and I do not think a team is going to send a 10th man or G-leaguer out there to "handle it". He learned from the Bad Boy Pistons and that is how he will continue until the league, the team or another player "ends it".

So i understand and i am sensitive to mental health issues, and im sorry i dont think that is the case here with green. I feel like they are trying to paint it as that so they can handle it quietly and make it go away. Number 1, its repeated behavior and not just to opponents but to his own teammates. Whose to say he hasnt shoved steph in a practice? Just because we havent heard about it. Secondly, the fact that he is not apologetic. This is the case of a stereotypical narcissist. He swings on players he knows arent gonna hit him back, barks about it and then afterward plays the victim. Hes basically a bully whose never been humbled.

@@gregrizzo8054 yea no duh gloves and helmets come off during a fight, im talking about getting checked. If your talking about fighting in sports, specifically hockey. In 2019 the NHL has already started the process of discouraging fighting. And trust you and me the NHL is one bad fight away from banning it, its just a matter of time friend. And im sorry to disagree but cheap shots shouldnt be tolerated in any sport. Green specifically has kick 3 people in the nuts, sucker punched his teammate and no swung at someone. At some point hes gonna hurt someone and its gonna impact a playoff game or championship. And then what? Im all for hard physical play but not swinging at a guy unprovoked.

@@vindigga6 We agree on most everything you wrote there. Dray is a menace and deserves whatever punishment he gets. The rest of the season would be ok with me and i'm a huge Warriors fan. I disagree that Hockey is one fight away from being banned, its part of the sport. All they have to do is make the fines and suspensions so severe that they will eventually go away. Part of me thinks they don't want that to happen otherwise it already would have. Just my 2 cents worth. Be well.

Here’s the thing, it’d be one thing if he was taking on players as combatants or those players have some form of recourse. He’d still be known as a rat, but it’d be a hockey type of situation. Because of the rules, players can’t really go back at him without severely costing their team via suspensions and whatever else. He’s the prime example for why NHL players will never vote to get rid of fighting.

I don’t know why people, especially the media is pushing this narrative that he is better than what he really is he’s an average player at best. The only reason why he ends up in the Hall of Fame is because he played on the Warriors. Don’t get me wrong. He had a roll and played it very well, but when it comes down to it and he was on a different team, no one would be talking about him. He would’ve probably been out of the league already. They honestly shouldn’t let him in the Hall of Fame until he dies kind of the Pete rose treatment just because of all the crap that he’s doing and shame on the players union for defending the sky instead of the other players that he’s been hurting. Warriors make people furious because they destroyed so many teams during their dynasty. Lots of fans are upset about this and feign moral indignation because they think sounding righteous makes them right. Their justification is that it's a pattern with Green, so even if his actions are not as bad, it 'makes the league look bad' and therefore an example needs to be made. Frankly though, I also don't care that Draymond is suspended indefinitely. He knew this sort of thing was coming, especially with that 5 game suspension for the chokehold. Should've stopped there but he clearly lacks self-control, to the point that I'm not going to defend his actions any more.

An ironic statement. Off the field, Draymond has always been considered a decent person. He does charity work, youth programs, and reaches out to students of his alma mater. He is always trying to make those around him better. His problem, like many other troubled athletes, is competition. His desire to win brings out aggression and negativity in a detrimental way. I think the break may be what he needs. The team is struggling and that seems to be bringing out a level of frustration that he cant hide any longer.
