Jets drafted him in the 1st round and kept him for 8 years, then he went to the Texans for 3 years, then went to a few other teams for a year or two each. When he retired, he signed a one-day contract to retire as a Texan. I guess he does know the Jets pretty well.

For those criticizing Aaron Glenn as another defensive-minded head coach and comparing him to Todd Bowles and other defensive coaches, consider this: Bowles, now with the Bucs, has consistently hired top-tier OCs. This past season, with first-year OC Liam Coen, the Bucs averaged 29 PPG, led by Baker Mayfield's standout performance. Before Coen, Dave Canales also excelled with Bowles last year, earning the Panthers HC job. Coen just today declined the Jaguars HC role to stay with Bowles in Tampa. The Jets’ issue wasn’t Bowles-it was poor ownership and a front office that kept Mike Maccagnan, fired Bowles, and hired Adam Gase. (Remember that utter nonsense?). Tampa’s success shows Bowles can hire competent offensive staff, highlighting the Jets’ organizational dysfunction. The problem has always been the NY Jets.

What a world. I have a signed rookie card of Aaron Glenn. Man I hope they win the Super Bowl with him as coach. Dammit, can I really say that was a Pats fan?
@bhowejr0010 күн бұрын
No. No you cannot. Encoded in every piece of Pats gear or memorabilia is an implied covenant that no Pats fan can ever wish good fortune on any part of the Jets organization. They started doing this after Mangini ran to the principal to squeal on the Patriots for having a camera in the wrong location during a game. They will forever be known as rats by all of New England.

Are we giving up on Jordan Travis?

Jan 17, 2021 - They wanted a leader, an expert communicator, an energetic motivator capable of inspiring both the locker room and a fan base that had been ... Jet's: where inspiring coaches get fired.

My Jets again are going to suck. Hiring a first time HC & possibly hire first time GM. Let’s run it back and hire a first time OC. What can go wrong?

We have seen alot of “inspiring hires” recently.. ww have seen a bunch of inspiring picks too..

The bad thing is if you keep Aaron Rodgers he fights against you taken his replacement. Instead of giving him another receiver or weapon or protection

Aaron literally said he is happy to stay on the basis of them bringing in a young QB that he could mentor...

It will be interesting if Glenn and his new GM renegotiates Rodgers and Adams contract to bring them back for one year. the Jets had the lead in 7 games going into the 4th quarter, maybe good coaching and a reinvigorated Jet D gets them to the Playoffs?

The power struggle between Glenn and Rodgers will be amazing to watch for every other franchise fan base. My money is on Rodgers retiring after 2 or 3 games next season. He doesn’t do power-sharing.

It has to be a page One rewrite @ The Jets, a fresh start at QB and throughout the franchise.

I agree 100% . If they bring AR back I think they are still on the same page.

Vrabel has been talking about accountability, and earning the right to be in the locker room. He wants to help rebuild the team culture. It sounds as though Glenn is very similar in his thinking. If he succeeds, and Vrabel succeeds, t's going to be a much more interesting division.

They need to keep breece hall .. Garrett Wilson. Sauce Gardner to build around no doubt about it those 3 playersare the foundation

They don't get it. Football, more than baseball and basketball, requires a massive amount of in-game decision-making. You shouldn't hire a head coach based on his playing days, his ties to the organization, how much he volunteers, etc. You need someone who understands that Tampa Bay kicking the FG to tie the game 20-20 in the Wild Card Round was the same as a forfeit. Give a candidate that scenario. Down 20-17. 4th & 3 on the plus-14. 4:41 left. Ask "What do you do and why?" And you find your next HC.

Rich literally said "you need to find yourself your Jayden Daniels." He even covers the NFL draft every year. But apparently only pays attention to the first round. The Jets literally have the QB who beat Jayden Daniels and his two 1st round WR's both times they played. The only QB in last year's draft who won his last 17 games in college and led his power 5 conference team to an undefeated season, are were literally left off the 4 team college playoffs after he got hurt because the committee said he was that important. And to prove them right, that team has been 3-11 since he got hurt late in the season and then graduated. Think about that, they went from 17-0 to 3-11 after he left.

Jets defense in 2021 gave up 45 pts a game yet most media put 3 win season on rookie qb that year.

so you fire defensive coach (salah) to hire another one? nothing against glenn, he seems to have the "it" of a leader, but i still cannot understand how salah got fired

As a lifelong Lions fan I couldn't be happier for Glenn getting HC job. As a lifelong Lions fan I couldn't feel any worst for Glenn getting a HC with the Jets. He'll be fired within 2 years because that franchise will do everything imaginable to set him up for failure. You always got a spot with the Lions Aaron
@NickOder-iy4yo10 күн бұрын
At this point, why don't the owners just coach the team? Glenn was hired with the assumption he'll do whatever the owner wants, rather than let the coach do his job.

Don’t worry rich and the fan base is going to call for him to be fire next year.
