Absolutely mindblowing performance! The quality of the reps, the form still intact when going for second round in DLs. Just wow!

What I love about Rich is he never leaves room for ambiguity. He no reps himself ALL THE TIME and doesn't try to play it off. Doesn't fuck around with hip crease being an issue. CLEARLY hits above the target line ALL the time. And most importantly hits his HSPU with feet close and a near vertical body. Anybody else remember Bridges vs. Panchik last year???? #crossfit

probably had something to do with that inverted kip kinda feel in the hip flexors. After all that extension and flexion it was probably just a thing like "ahhh yeaas I can relax this muscle a sec"

I can't speak very intelligently on the standards for the HSPU, but I noticed in the 16.4 open announcement and in last year's games, it seemed like the athletes had to have their feet together in order to reach high enough to get their heels across the tape. Interesting the disparity in this and other videos where athletes are seemingly tall enough to get their heels across the tape with their legs spread. I'm not trying to suggest they're cheating, I just think the standard is being interpreted differently. I really enjoyed the synchronized rowing in this video. And, as always, Rich is a beast, his last minute of wall balls was insane! Looking forward to tonight!

+sallysueso shrugging your shoulders and not shrugging makes a huge difference. I think this is where there is a interpretation difference. Who knows how it was measured.

Don't take it too seriously unless you want to compete. I know it sounds "weak" but take it for what it worth. It worth doing because exercise is mentally relaxing, helps your mood and general well being. But never risk your mental health trying to compare yourself for the elite of the elite. After all, watching the elite is for entertainment and entertainment only. Be motivated and inspired by how far you have gone, bro. Take care, I wish you luck and health for your training and life!

Perhaps I'm just being super cynical...but, they (finally) penalise Josh Bridges for 16.4 then immediately announce that 16.5 is...14.5...a workout Josh Bridges won Worldwide in 2014. Seems like too much of a coincidence to me. Are HQ actively trying to force a Bridges win in the 2016 Open?
