When I went to the Arnold classic in 2017 in Ohio it was amazing. All the big people in fitness were there. One thing that stood out to me was that rich was the only person there who seemed to give a crap about the people he was meeting. The other guys would say hey snap a pic and hurry you along. Rich had a 3 hour line all day and asked every single person how they were, answered any questions gave advice and listened to what people had to say. He made sure every single person got to meet him. I'll never forget he shook my hand, said what's your name, I said I'm Ryan. I told him I'd been waiting 19 years for this, and he said well how old are you and I said 19 and he said you're a big boy for 19! Keep it up man and you will go somewhere with it. He snapped a pic and signed a shirt I bought and I left. I live in Tennessee and I decided the day before that I was gonna drive all the way to Ohio to meet rich and go to the expo. I'm so glad I didn't just say, screw it I'll have another chance to meet him, I drove 13 hours that day to meet rich for like a minute. I watched him every since he put out videos and I only met him once, but I miss him. Don't let chances pass you by guys.

I started watching his youtube videos about a year ago. I even commented if I knew some info. To learn that he passed out and wasn't breathing was shocking. I don't recall feeling sorrow over someone I didn't even know like you said. I'm glad I saw this last video. You think it something relating to his rapid dieting that lead to what happened?

When I first saw Rich I thought what a arrogant meathead. But when I actually watched his videos I found him to be one of the most humble people I have ever seen. It was no act either as you could see he was just very, very sincere. Strangers would come up and he was just so cool and patient with them. Thank you Rich. Your Legacy will long outlive those muscles. Your kindness and humility is what I will remember most of all as I'm sure many others will as well :)

Yeah, especially his third video on feeder workouts, feeder sets for arm growth, when he said something like this with lots of genuine passion: "I'm not trying to sell you a program; it doesn't benefit me any if you do this shit; I'm just saying you gotta try this shit for your own benefit, because the results ARE INSANE! Try this for 30 days." I still do feeder workouts to this day.

To add to it, if this is the case of it being his last time of film (very possible, I'll almost bet that it is), is it me or is there a sense of "peace" with Rich? At the end there, when he's with all of the guy's and they're flexing and he just has genuine almost emotional smile and how he's taking in the moment. It somewhat insight within himself? I don't know but I get a strong sense of it. Maybe it's me but they say, sometimes you get a feeling of having a short time left here on Earth. Not with everyone, but with some people...they're really that deeply connected to themselves and this universe. Strange thing this life is. #RIPRICH

Thanks for putting this film out there. In amongst a lot of KZbin content that criticised him it’s really nice to see him having a casual relaxed conversation where there’s no agenda, no editing just the man. I never met the man, didn't know him, loved his channel. I feel bad for his passing as a human being, but I can't figure out why I'm this upset. Really strange...

We all are bro. We identify our true friends by how honest they are around us and they can be themselves. Rich was that guy, always honest, never had to fake who he was in front of people, not even himself. That's why he feels like a friend to all of us.
Me too man, it has hit me pretty hard... kind of weird.

This is definitely the most upset I've ever been over the death of somebody I never even met. I haven't cried in months, but watching tribute and farewell videos had me continously tearing up. The weirdest thing is that nobody in my circle of friends or family would understand why this upsets so much. If I tried to explain to them what he was they'd probably only get as far as his appearance and ignore or don't comprehend the rest. But I think he was much more than his muscles and I think his videos meant a great deal to a lot of people.

Whenever I feel like stopping my set because the burn is too much, I remember all the things Rich has said about not giving up and I swear I put out more reps through the pain, more than I ever thought I could. He’s my biggest inspiration for getting the body I’ve always dreamed of. Thank you so much Rich.

My 1st comment on your passing. Thank you Rich for being informative and going that extra mile for us your fans! Your videos keep me going when I needed to pass the time if I felt down. Shame I never got to meet you in person R.I.P

Often in life we meet individuals and we place a judgement, we pass them off as "something," rather than "someone." We feign their possibility of having a massive impact on our individual life....We feign the Blessing that a single individual can have in our life, perception, and our world overall...We simple do not see the connection. This is logically impossible with Rich Piana, the almost mythical figure that is Rich impacted all of our lives, as bodybuilders, and individuals. Whether it be the freakishly gargantuan proportion of his personality, or his honesty as a man, or to the shear size of his physique. Rich Piana in my opinion is right there with names like Schwarzenegger, Ferrigno, Yates, and Kai Greene. Rich IS, and will forever be a man that change the way we see, play, and feel about our passion as strength, and bodybuilding sport athletes. Rich will not be forgotten because he changed our sport, with his love of our sport, and each of us, and that is the connection. The fact that I am in tears right now as I write about this massive man is staggering to me, because I never got to meet the man. Yet, I am so saddened by the fact that though Rich taught us "one day you may," that "one day" for me to meet such a larger than life individual will not come in this life. May Almighty God Grant You The Rest of The Eternal Set My Friend.

Was never even into bodybuilding but I watched this lad because of his character ... his ego... his honesty and his don't give a fuck attitude.... There's always a person in a particular sport or hobby or specific field that stand out above the rest... It's these folk that a lot of the public love to hate... because they're the best at what they do or because they believe they are.. So for someone who didn't even have an interest in body building I'd like to say Thankyou for your entertainment as a character... as an honest guy! God bless
