I feel that the Nivala is not this jackets competition but the Kingsley, that and the Revitt Dominator and Klim Kodiak, is what I am cross shopping it against as they are all AA and that is important to me.

It’s a great review with helpful details - thanks, Tony 👏 It’s good the Armada has SuperFabric - a fabric that comes out well in MotoCAP tests - in the high-risk areas. Sadly, Rukka’s recent range seems to have downgraded to Armacor - a material that only provides 1.3 seconds of abrasion resistance in MotoCAP testing. The Rukka Nivala 2.0 only has a single ‘A’ rating for protection, so the Armada outguns it in the safety stakes. At this price point, it could be the Richa Armada vs the Hideout Metropole as the jacket for British weather 💦

No problem - and that's an interesting point on the CE ratings and how this differs from the Rukka Nivala 2.0. I'd be interested to know how many people would favour a jacket with a higher CE grade. How could they do their "R"- branding right ON insidr the chest vents blocking some of the air? Brsnding is annoying anyway but this is outright silly.

I really, really like this jacket but I have a couple of concerns. 1) A few different testers have said the sleeves leak at the elbow when the elbow is bent. This sounds to me that the zips aren't being done up properly somewhere. 2) Apparently the chest vents are obstructed so they aren't all that useful? 3)I know the main zip can be opened up to be used as a full length vent, how are the storm flaps held back as there doesn't seem to be any way to do this? 4)The Richa website lists this jacket as no longer available. Does that mean there is a newer version coming?

Apologies for the delay - I've been in contact with our Richa representative for you. The Armada has been discontinued, and we are currently clearing the remainder stock. I'm told a replacement version is likely for the 2025 collection. As for the elbows, the sleeve vent zips have 'garages' at the top of the run that stop the puller flapping about in the wind. Perhaps if the pullers aren't pushed fully into place then that allows water ingress through there, but I couldn't say for sure without some scientific testing for which I am very under-qualified. As for the vent panel down the front, there's nothing to hold the storm flaps back. From experience, even with them loose air is still able to reach the vent panel. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony
