Adam Holzman is an amazing keyboardist, but man do I miss Richard Barbieri's incredible soundscapes behind Steven Wilson's music.

Agreed; SW really should work with him again in some capacity, even if there's no full PT reunion.
@victoralm87363 жыл бұрын
Totally! Adam is better at playing classic piano tunes and of course playing jazz-piano (also due to RB hating jazz). But no one could beat RB at creating this kind of soundscape.

@@simonl1785 I would say that interview was recorded about a month and a half ago and at that point, Gavin was on tour with King Crimson. And as well as being in The Pineapple Thief, he is still in King Crimson - they're touring again in November.

If there's one song I don't get tired of listening to, it's this one. Everything perfect, melody, lyrics, arrangement. This texture that Richard makes with his keyboards is beautiful.

I'm so happy for Steven realized there, he wanted to reassemble. Just said it in an recent interview. Like, days in Royal Albert Hall, which pinnacle could have topped that. I'm so happy for his integrity to himself and his art. It means a certain frustration, for not getting into mainstream, but everything happened for a reason.

I really miss Wilson-Barbieri duo. While I love Edwin, but Barbieri is that other element other than Wilson which is necessary for the PT sound.
@gabrielelgueta91583 жыл бұрын
I believe you are right, Barbieri contribution to Wilsons composition is fundamental for PT sound (take this song for example)... and if you add Gavin Harrisons drums technique, what a great band. So glad the three of them are realeasing a new PT album.

Barbieri never ceases to amaze me with his sheer genius for sounds and melody. You add SW to the mix and the result is always extraordinary. In this take specifically, however, I do miss Harrison and the awesome John Wesley guitar solo wrapped around Colin Edwin’s bass line.I can’t lie: Colin Edwin will be missed in this new PT album. I just can’t understand what could have possibly happened that Edwin is not included.
