Richard Cromwell actor Documentary - Hollywood Walk of Fame

Richard Cromwell was an American actor. His career was at its pinnacle with his work in Jezebel with Bette Davis and Henry Fonda and again with Fonda in John Ford's Young Mr. Lincoln . Cromwell's fame was perhaps first assured in The Lives of a Bengal Lancer , sharing top billing with Gary Cooper and Franchot Tone.
That film was the first major effort directed by Henry Hathaway and it was based upon the popular novel by Francis Yeats-Brown. The Lives of a Bengal Lancer earned Paramount Studios a nomination for Best Picture in 1935, though Mutiny on the Bounty instead took the top award at the Academy Awards that year.
Leslie Halliwell in The Filmgoer's Companion, summed up Cromwell's enduring appeal when he described him as "a leading man, gentle hero of early sound films."

Thanks for that interesting bio. GOSH he did a lot of work & die so young. Alcoholism & smoking probably trying to escaping being gay. Its not an easy task for any of us.. lf only people could be honest with each other their friends and mainly to themselves for people just don't have to suffer so long.. I mean he's such an accomplished artist sometimes people live other lives on stage and screen to avoid living their own lives as fully as possible because you're not allowed to. You'll be booted out of Hollywood unless you're underground living your life.. what more can I say we're constantly struggling with all this prejudice. I've always been seriously attacked for being gay but at the age of 70 I was attacked but homophobic pizza store owner out here in Bay Ridge Brooklyn destroying my meniscus and my ability to walk properly again losing 80% of my mobility.. no I can't continue to do things I want to do volunteer helping the homeless, LGBT ,Aids causes and plenty other causes. Now I I have to think twice exerting my energy walking crippled is exerting a lot of energy just to be balanced in walking it's normal as you can. Well the world is still f&$# with hate
