I'm in the UK and remember when the US tried arm twisting Merkel regarding Germany's increasing trade links with China . She told them bluntly " Germany is quite capable of managing it's own affairs ". Good for her I thought . . So when it came to Ukraine I was confident that Germany would not slit it's own throat to please the US which is competing with Germanyfor world trade . I still can't believe what's happened , and the very same Merkel boasting that , despite being a guarantor for the Minsk agreement , they were pulling the wool over Putins eyes and had no intention of honouring it . . . Is Germany surprised that the same people who are accusing Panama of " abusing it's position and increasing prices " are the same people who blew up Nord Stream and then made a killing charging Europe four times as much for their LNG ? . . As I say , I still can't believe it or understand why we have remained silent and obediently danced to Americas tune .

@@larisamarks4236 You are right! But wait. There a number of indications that in 2 years or so, there will be many very intelligent, clever and also spiritual minded Germans bringing out useful inventions not only in the field of all kind of new technologies, but also regarding oecological building, agricultural new methods, better school system etc. There exist already quite some good ideas in many fields, but the "spirit of time", the German "Zeitgeist" does not allow it right now. Maybe in the new aera coming up Germans will no longer produce like crazy so many cars and machines (with side effects) and export them. Being fortunate brings also the obligation to help others, which are not so advanced. I see a vague trend, that this is what many Germans may have understood from the rather unfortunate past.

The US imperialist policies is old as America itself. The devoutly religious Puritans literally burned alive their neighboring Indian tribe in the Mystic Massacre of 1637. Then, they turned on the Indians who were their allies (the Narraganst) in their next war, King Philips War of 1675 ... We shouldn't excuse all this saying the disputes between the Indians and English were inevitable. In 1620, English man Thomas Morton made friends with the Indians. He encouraged the people of his village to even party with and make "merry" with the Indians. His village - not far from the Puritans' settlement - was, in fact, called Merrimount. His book "New English Canaan" was published the same year of the Mystic Massacre in 1637. It was also the first book banned in America

I wonder this a lot, too. It's my understanding the whole American education apparatus for the political class teaches exceptionalism and escalation dominance as dogma. Sometimes I wonder if they really are so detached they can't see the big picture; their decision making ability is only as good as the briefings they receive from staffers.

Agree with most of the stuff, just not the issue of the US being of 'service' to Europe by contributing mostly to NATO... Europe would be FAR safer WITHOUT the military 'support' of the US. Russia would not be a threat for Europe WITHOUT NATO. Their military budgets should not be 2% of GDP, but 0.2%. Like that Europe would be much safer and have even more funds available for social welfare. The only reason why Europe is now cornered, is due to dumb, violent interference of the US in Europe. Without NATO, there would be no war in Europe and friendly relations with Russia. FACT! Right now, even East European nations (Slovakia, Cech republic, Serbia, Hungary) - most that were in the past under control of the USSR, prefer an end to the war and improved relations with Russia. That should be a huge sign! The relation between the US and Europe is a highly poisonous one! The sooner it ends, the better!

Exactly AwildRia...well said!..this was often used to make fun of socialism failures........but here we have supposed CAPITALISM heros... the EU and USA.... in the empire decline and fail mode heading to 3rd world failure mode. The Brics vs G7 is a stunning comparison of economic power and population numbers. Richard is a qualified PhD that can support all the decline evidence factually. People are now starting to listen. The decline and collapse is here. And it's palpable. Its a wtf moment. When economics hit the skids to the point of millions suffering, people start paying attention in a big way to wtf is going in in reality and take their hands off their eyes and head out of the sand. Unfortunately, we have to live through the shrinking empire. The military reductions, the heavy taxation, the social program removals, the empire shrinkage. This will continue to hurt before it gets better. Those of us seniors remember much better times 30 -40 yrs ago. It's very evident it's all declining. His VW example is heading to America. Wage cuts in a inflation environment. Amazon is now on strike, Boeing near collapse..... USPS can't function. Evidence already here.
