It's one thing to come on AGT and sing one of the most iconic songs of all time. Richard absolutely nailed it! But to also get the chance to perform with members of the legendary band Journey as well! Wow! Simon was right during the audition, America will love Richard! I bet the kids at his school are bouncing off the walls excited for him! Bravo!! And thank you Heidi for pushing the Golden Buzzer!! In my opinion, this has been one of the best seasons of AGT in a long time! It's as if the theme "Don't Stop Believing" has struck a chord with so many people, not only across the country but around the globe! It's giving everyone a feeling that things are going to get better.

For a night, Richard became the lead singer of Journey. Who does that??? Even if he hadn't won the show, he won so much. WOW!! I am so delighted about all of this. Just a regular ol' guy, middle of America, sweeping floors and singing his heart out, and he wins! It is the greatest story and I had tears when they announced him as the winner. Go go Richard!!!

he isnt band member, he got one song becuase thats what people wanted to see. its a show, lot of pretend no substance. he won, he will get a million - over 40 years - so 20k a year. he has to try to get something going fast or he will be back wiping floors in a few months and crushed dreams. that show is a relaly difficult starting point for a career. only a literal handful made it. i wish him the best tough

Journey is so over-hyped, but it's nothing compared to the unbelievable gushing over this janitor. He is not that good and on this song, he sounds terrible. Neal Schon has always been this cool and giving with the public. Back in the 1980s, he used to show up at a small club in Studio City, CA called Sasch's. He, Mick Fleetwood and other Professionals played for the love of it, basically, and they would invite any singers from the crowd to show up and give it a go with them. I always love Neal and Mick for this treasure. So, its no surprise to me that Neal showed up for this guy. He's always been about that. Love me some Neal Schon !!!

Arnel is really good, though. I think he's the best lead singer they've had since Perry left! Even in their newest album, it feels like an album that was actually MADE in the 80s! March 27: It was my second time back on the show, and I had twenty minutes to scarf down some breakfast at the hotel before my driver arrived to take me to LAX. Other acts were milling about, patting themselves on the back for their taping the day before for Season 19 of "America's Got Talent." Mine hadn't gone so well, but my mind was on the coffee and eggs. Richard Goodall, who had never flown in an airplane before, had just arrived for his taping, sat alone, and I joined him for breakfast. He informed me he was going to sing a Journey song, and he said, "Listen to this." As I listened on his phone, I said, "That's Steve Perry; where are you?" He said, "That is me." I looked over this simple, non-assuming 55-year-old janitor of 23 years from Terre Haute, Indiana, and told him he was going to go all the way. He just shrugged, but I knew it, there and then, and this night proved to be Richard's finest hour.

Thanks for sharing… just knew the first night he would win and was so excited. He is so natural at singing… can you imagine if he gets a coach and works with someone even more? Wow. He is a star w a song!! Tears are flowing. The people in home town helped him get a car and have money for trips… and he got married after his first wife died. God blessed this sweet man.

This brought me to tears, and the fist bump from Neal, well that was the icing on the cake; we'll done you guys. I can't put into words what I feel as I'm watching this; sooooooo many emotions. I remember, over a decade ago, another incredible voice was discovered on a national talent show (Susan Boyle) and how Happy I was for her. Tonight, I could not be more happy for Richard! He, like Susan, are very humble average people that were likely overlooked based on their looks, confidence and stereotyping over their many years. Both are incredible talents and the World is a much better place when their God given talents are shared with the World. What a wonderful and talented man!
