Richard Page is without a doubt one of the best musicians I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. I first learned of his amazing gift when I heard the Pages albums in the early 80s. Songs like Sesatia, OCOE, and Midnight Angel were among my favorites. I was also aware of his beautiful studio work as both a writer and background vocalist on the AL Jarreau records also in the early 80s. I'm a drummer so I always appreciate singers with good time as so many singers sing ahead of the beat. Richard is a true professional. He also has great microphone technique, a skill that he undoubtedly acquired through his session work. I had the pleasure of meeting Richard in 1987 as Mr. Mister was touring with the Seattle band Heart. I was amazed by how tall he was! He was so personable and charismatic and he had nothing but kind things to say. One of the things that impresses me most about Richard is his ad-libs during chorus out sections. He's always subtle and soulful and he makes beautiful and very musical choices. I remember when Mr. Mister performed on Saturday night live in about 1986. Richard's singing was so on point that a song writer named Randy Newman was convinced that Richard was lip sinking. He wasn't though!! A true talent and a huge inspiration to me.

Richard is very special. Amazing songwriter and vocalist. He is the real deal. Had the pleasure of working with him at BMG/RCA in the 80s/90s. A true professional and really down to earth. Still has that incredible range, phrasing and perfect pitch.

Similar to the late Clifford T Ward, Richard is underrated but has the most beautiful and soulful voices I've heard.

Not underrated, just unknown to many but not to those of us who seek music that stands the test of time. Richard has performed on so many incredible recordings in addition to his work with Pages and Mr.Mister. He has added background vocals to dozens of classic albums and written a lot of successful songs along with Steve George and John Lang. I would say that Steve George is criminally unknown as both a keyboardist and singer. Thankfully we have KZbin and lots of people who upload amazing videos for us all to share. I bought Solo Acoustic when it came out and was amazed how sharp Richard's voice was and by the look of the Ringo Starr videos he's still got it, pretty remarkable, but then he's one of the very best performers we've ever seen, I'd say up there with Karen Carpenter, Luther Vandross and other musical royalty.

Great song, and still a great voice. I Did not know that he is going on with a solo carrier since I was told by my friend Rolf Maibaum. I was a great fan of him and his voice, "Dust" was a long time my favourite song! So I found him back due to my friend, who had the idea to make a rendition on "BROKEN WINGS"!
