Richard Petty must be the most laid back celebrity ever. Couple years ago NASCAR race came to my town. I work at the nearby airport all the teams use. We got a request to have 1 of the few available air conditioned offices available so RP could meet his daughter (or DIL?)and grand daughter prior to the race. The daughter and young grand daughter were delayed more than an hour. The King was content to sit on the tailgate of a truck in the hot sun the whole time. We checked-in often with cold water or suggested we instead would wait outside on the girls so he could wait inside. But no. The King didn't need anything and was cool about all of it.

Dale Sr.’s death and the homogenization of the sport have been the one/two punch that knocked out NASCAR. Used to be that everything stopped in our household on Sunday for the race. My wife, my son and I watched with a great deal of passion cheering for our three different favorite drivers. Now, I’ll tune in to the race once or twice a season. When political figures decide to cherry pick which history to teach or not teach, but never actually make a real decision one way or the other, and use it as a recurring "issue" to "run on a problem" and use the situation as a political strategy item eventually someone is going to be the adult in the room and make the decision for everyone. That's what happens in the real world, they teach it as early as Kindergarten - when the class can't agree with and get along with one another and take the privileges they enjoy for granted, everyone's privileges are taken away. Learning anything but how to stand at a cash register for 8-12 hours per day or hide from an active shooter in school in 2024 is a PRIVILEGE.

When Kyle mentioned the nose being taken to the ground and how that was when the whole aero problems started, I just thought "that's what I've been saying!" They gotta get the cars off the ground a little more and let the air move the car around instead of blocking it from getting through. Until they do that, aero push and dirty air is going to remain the biggest factor in good racing and the ability to pass. Changing tires will be only be a band-aid and it won't take but half a season before all the drivers start driving the same way again to save them and we'll be right back to where we are now. I'm not saying not to make a better tires in terms of wear, I'm just saying that aero is a huge factor. The more the aero "got better" and cars more alike, the worse the dirty air problem became. That's not an accident.

Not mad at Kyle for starting with a path i dont recon.. huh i dont even know what my feeling are on this exactly anyway maybe just trying to point out why it is almost impossible. There are some punks i recon.. I think there always have been. Kurt Kyle Hell Carl had some Punk in him the bodines were in my opinion, TG seemed like he was gonna be aweful but seems to me guys are working on thereselves quicker than they ever have. They are not allowed to have alot of personality nowdays anyhow. And 4717 I dont dissagree with anything your ppint out just some of the things i maybe seen as hurdles or reasons maybe...
