TALK DESCRIPTION: Archetypal astrology is an approach influenced by Jungian and transpersonal psychology that studies the connection between the changing positions of the planets in the solar system and archetypal patterns in human experience and history. The evidence of consistent correlations between planetary alignments and world events, as seen through the lens of archetypal astrology, can provide us with an invaluable larger context for our time.
Understanding the current world transits in terms of the cyclical patterns and historical trends that led to this moment can help us engage with greater consciousness and skillful intelligence the powerful forces now active in the world. In this sense, archetypal astrology can be seen as a kind of cosmic extension of the great depth psychology project initiated by Jung and other pioneers over a century ago: helping us become more conscious of the deep unconscious, less like puppets and more like co-creative participants in relation to the archetypal powers within and around us.

The way Dr. Liz Greene reads a horoscope is the same way Jung did with the meanings of the planets the same as the houses and signs they rule. If you know the meaning of the planets, then you know the meanings of the signs and houses or planets in the signs and houses. This idea is leading edge psychological astrology and not traditional or ancient. The problems of meanings only occur if one uses the old rulerships. It also depends on the consciousness of the individual of the archetypal meaning how the symbols manifest. Sun in the eleventh is not exactly the same as Sun in Aquarius, but the same potential expression is there. The horoscope symbols represent potentials which is why I agree with the idea all the archetypes are always there in the psyche. They are activated of constellated during aspects and cycles. How they exactly manifest is difficult to predict since they are so many possibilities from the multi combinations of meanings of the symbols. Jung wrote there is no guarantee that they would manifest.

As I reflect on the fatigue with Neptune/Saturn conjunction, what occurs to me is that often this is when TRUCES are negotiated. Much of the current situation comes out of the decisions made after WWI when Wilson was idealistic in his approach, but unable to establish the League of Nations. Iraq and Iran were established during that truce…also Yugoslavia etc. Yes, it is be attentive to the fatigue that can have ramifications going forward.

A very insightful and helpful discussion of the 2 major conjunctions, and also I really appreciated the comment on why conjunctions are more rigorous and universally applicable than transits through signs. One suggestion for Richard, for a non-partisan, approach, which is not divisive, and which will approximately double your audience, rather than appeal to only about 40-50% of the population. Are there any political conservatives associated with CIIS? Are any astrologers political conservatives? This is a suggest to enhance tolerance, inclusiveness, and equity. Finally, my wife and I were really happy with what Richard said about Neptune's Heaven descending on Saturn's Earth, as we have a list of 90 (and increasing) spiritual visionaries (mostly clairvoyants, with some astrologers), who forecast ascension, a golden age, beginning to manifest widely in the global mainstream soon, in our lifetime, with 38 of them stating 2025-2030, which supports Richard's stimulating words about the Neptune Saturn conjunction.

According to Indian rishis (seers), the planets are also causal. They say this because they directly perceived it, it was not mainly speculative or intellectually derived. Archetypes, Plato's forms/ideas, and several stages of Western philosophy all are visions and experiences and understanding of the Veda.

To be specific we can deduce the meanings of the planets in the signs and houses from the meanings of the planetary aspects of two planets in aspect in the astrological cycles which have a similar meaning meaning to the planets in the signs and houses which are ruled by the planets. More than one horoscope symbol would represent an archetype like Uranus, the eleventh house and Aquarius being an archetypal gestalt or constellation.
