Sorry, but I don’t quite agree with you either. I've never been into the history of the British Empire and the Middle East, but because of the current conflict, I read a little about the history and it hit me like cold water. This whole series of crusades in order to seize the “holy land” of Palestine, which were justified by rumors of disrespect for Christians, but in fact were the looting and destruction of Christian churches. All these epics about King Arthur, the Freemasonry and the Rosicrucians, then the occupation of a huge amount of lands in the Middle East before/in 1stWW? It turns out that for thousands of years, our Christian fanatics, obsessed with the idea of ​​seizing the land of the Arabs, killed Muslims and Christians, and this was the norm. I'm disappointed by Prof Wolff's remarks. The slaughter didn't start on Oct 7 as he clearly suggests. As he must know, the slaughter began 7-odd decades ago. Yes, there are two sides to it, but one is a genocidal occupier and the other its victims. Any other "analysis" is either informed by cowardice or an attempt at obfuscation, and I'm not sure which is more contemptible.

I’ve shared in your amazement and joy as the ideas of socialism lost its taboo status in your country. I was taken for a fast ride on the German Autobahn super highway in 1969, my US Army relative pointing out how wonderful it all was, how Eisenhower was imitating the wonder in the US. I was very uncomfortable as my Dad fought in the war as a Naval officer. But the experience taught me at 22 to be a total cynic, especially about gooey sentimental tears over genocide.
