I found the trick is to make the door so the rubber weather stripping at the bottoms barely touches the concrete. Then opener automatically allows the door to gracefully fall into place the last 2 in. Like a built in soft close feature. Use the arrow to slam in into its final resting spot will activate the safety feature when adjusting and ruin the adjustment process. Hope this helps!

Sounds like you are a pro. I followed the Chamberlain instructions multiple times. I watched your video once. The programming fails to set the open limit every time. Compliments on your video, that is the way it is supposed to work.

Request back wages from Chamberlain for providing this valuable resource. Their manual is a bolloxed up mess to understand. I tried their 800#, but that explanation on programming wasn't any better. When we couldn't get the unit to respond to input, they suggested I need a logic board. After waiting a month and a half, I went back to Lowes., and they were great. I only had to exchange my motor unit with the bad logic board, with a new motor unit, took it home, and with your video to program, it's now up and running and working great. I apparently didn't have to set the force, b/c after setting the up and down travel, the light blinked 10 times, the unit went up and down by itself and then stopped. The wall button was blinking, I pushed it twice to syncro it, then watched your other video on programming remotes, and now everything works as it should. Contact Chamberlain and tell them you'll help them re-write the instructions.....................for a fee of course. Your instructions were to the point, and spot on and easy to follow and understand. I appreciate it. Thank you. By the way, my unit is a Chamberlain, model C2102.

Soooo... what do you do when the down force adjustment isn't programming? The door move a few inches to a few feet or so then stops and comes back up and side lightbulbs flash. The bottom beams are lined up. The door worked fine for a few years now doesn't shut unless you hold the main control button the entire way down. Also, it does this with or without the door engaged, it does it even with just just the carriage.
@garagedoorgenius5 жыл бұрын
Hmm..well the flashing light bulb is our indicator it's a sensor issue. Trace the sensor wires all the way back to the machine. Check to make sure the sensor wire isn't being pinched. I'd say it's wired up wrong, but since it's been working for awhile that eliminates that. Definitely sensor related.

@@garagedoorgenius sensors are new as of end of last year. Definitely wired correctly. Door still ride the track smoothly on its own. Garage door opener carriage goes up just fine, but won't go down on its own with or without door. I put this opener in when we bought the house in 2013. The genie on my wife's side of the garage works with no issues and looks to be maybe one of genies first screw drive models. Looks like I'm buying another new opener for my side. I'll just get a basic one this time. Battery backup was nice but never got it hooked up to my phone.

@@gabrielwilliamson Before you replace the unit. Take the sensors off, leave about a foot of wire, cut the rest off. Take the sensors up to the power head and wire them up. Point them at each other and see if it works. Basically eliminating the long stretch of wire. Just to see if it's not a wire issue.

@@garagedoorgenius , no change in outcome with the sensors on short wires. The unit must think its hitting something on the way down. Maybe faulty control board.

@@gabrielwilliamson That sucks bro. Definitely could be a logic board.

I followed all the steps, but when I get to the door going down, it does nothing just blinks
@garagedoorgenius8 ай бұрын
Does it blink 10 times? If so, check the alignment of the sensors.
