Wow! So good to see this interview again. Thanks Richard. What a great character John was and what an amazing building! Bless him for keeping this historical treasure alive and living with so many ghosts! In the 1300s this place was already 200 years old! Mind blowing!

Hi Richard, I'm the man who shuck your hand in Stroud when you were filming ghosts of Gloucestershire, just wanted to tell you, that passageway in Tewkesbury near the church, I had the same experience as you, penny whistle, children playing, it tugged at my sister's jumper and made us all scream and run out to the road, wanted to tell you for many years, oh yeah, one of your records was scratched, I would like to return it please 😂😂😂😊haha 😂😂😂

John was such an unique and rare man who was given such an unique even and rare task to accomplish, and he by all means did exactly that, but when you hear him say that he was prohibited from having central heating in his own home and those who issued this had the authority to help him and his family with the restoration of this most historical building, many thanks Richard and God rest you john you deserve it ❤️

My girlfriend and I went on a ghost tour of the Ram around midsummer just before covid. We didn't know the history in advance, nor were we told it on the tour, so we didn't have any preconceived ideas about what to expect other than having seen a small snippet of an interview with John a week or two previous. I felt a great sense of serenity in the Inn, and some time after midnight we were sitting outside in the courtyard chatting about which room we liked the best. "It doesn't feel haunted, does it?" I said. "No" she said, "all I can feel is John".

I actually sat in the Bishops room on a bed one night, and I felt and smelt a monk in the room. He smelt of damp rain and I could actually see him faintly stood by a mirror in a corner. My knees were cracking from the immense cold. I still have the footage of a seance I shot with a friend. I have a photo of a faint outline of the monks hood. I sensed and heard women and children sobbing and crying in a barn area. Fascinating place.

I met John a few times over the years while doing venues, much later in his life and he was certainly quite the character. In fact I think all the extreme stuff that happened around the Ram Inn was down to his energy. When he entered a room - it kicked off. When he went again - it quietened down. Very interesting. For me, he WAS the Ancient Ram Inn 👍

That was absolutely fascinating. Talk about supernatural overload. Sacrifices, Devil worship, witchcraft and steeped in history. I am struggling to find a reason why the building would be demolished with that heritage.

I really would love the National Trust to take this place over. John’s daughter has tried to look after it, but it’s expensive to look after and really needs proper restoration now. I’ve seen quite a few ghost hunting teams film in there and I wish they wouldn’t as the house needs love and respect

Cor, Richard, what a swizz...! The late Mr Humphries was going to show the small piece of wood with a little bit cut out of it and a nail driven into it and also the horseshoe that he found in the hole in the chimney, but you never included it in the video, that is if both Mr Humphries and yourself remembered. And I sat through the video on tenterhooks waiting...! Let's put it this way, if ever me and you have the opportunity to meet I shall only buy you half a pint...!

He was an interesting chap John. Met him a few times. It was a strange set up. Him sleeping up above through the hatch and telling stories of the sucubus that visited him every night. The place was definitely different. I have a pic of an orb that was above the fire place downstairs and it followed me to the bishops room, it was the size of a large dinner plate. For a few years afterwards I had orbs following me around seen in pictures taken of me and I definitely had a negative energy with me. Much later I had a spiritual healer come and cleanse me. He actually became pale and shaken and said he would never visit me again. My life improved dramatically afterwards, he unfortunately passed on 2yrs after. He would mention that he mistakenly didn't envisage a golden globe or something of the kind for protection. I was quite antagonistic when I last visited the Ram, so I guess I peed something off. I stay away from it all now. I only wanted to see a glass hover or something move 😂

I hate to call someone a lier but its the way john Humphreys tells his experiences that give me alot of doubt. Such as "the succubus" like he knows what it is, if you see something out of this world you wouldnt have a clue what it is. Im a massive believer in paranormal but i cant believe john Humphreys his stories seem a little to hairy to me. Hopefully one day i will get to visit ram inn and stay a night myself.
