4:24 because Mike is indecisive. Stephan Franck finished six 100 page graphic novels while working as a director and storyboard artist. Simplified styles should never take longer than over rendered styles. Spot your blacks, define your environments, be decisive. That's how you build speed.

When I started collecting comics and picked up that wildcats trilogy, I was not a fan of Jae Lee's sketchy/messy style. And then I started drawing comics for a living, and quickly found Jae to be in my top list of comic artists. I didn't appreciate his skill back then. He is AMAZING and I find myself referencing his stuff to this day. Also, I always pronounced it Chi-O-doe. I have no idea what's correct anymore, lol.

15:10 it's called maturity. Alex Toth emphasized this. Eduardo Risso has this approach. Tell the story. Over rendering interferes with the overall storytelling. Even Charest started stripping down his work. RYAN OTTLEY completes 22 pages in 2 weeks. Simplify, have solid structure, use reference, use 3D models as reference and you will get the work done faster.
