That's one thing I hate about some videos. You can't seem to go more than about 4-5 minutes without a bunch of ads that you don't even need thrown right in the middle of the video! Then, you have to wait...and wait...and wait some more! It's pathetic! Thankfully, Richard Gene doesn't do that to you. If I see an ad with anything more than a minute or so, usually, I'll skip the ad(s), & go right back to the video. Yosemite Sam used to have that saying:"I hates rabbits"! I myself have a saying that many people feel like expressing:"I hates commercials"!!!

Thanks Richard, I fish out of a Solo skiff and kayaks. You have to wear a life jacket. It doesn't matter how good you think you can swim. If you fall in and your leg gets caught in a brush pile. You are done. That is one thing I will pass on. You reach a lot of people and I'm glad you brought that up.
@danwillis26715 жыл бұрын
Richard, I’ve seen a lot of fishing videos where people make a huge production of throwing a casting net, but you just grab it and throw, and still fill it with bait fish. I guess that’s the difference between showmanship, and honest, down to earth fishing. Thanks so much for what you do.

You're teaching me to ID spotted bass, Richard. When you said "It's just a big, river largemouth." I thought, "That looked like a spot to me." I'm living proof you're doing an awesome job here, Richard. I can now ID a Coosa River spotted bass on the fly and, to be honest, I enjoy that thought a lot. :) Thank you again for another installment of the best fishing channel on KZbin. We like going with you.

Richard- I live in Florida and watch all of your videos over and over. You are a good teacher and I learn from you. Can you please show step by step how you throw your cast net. I am older and have always thrown my net from my teeth. It takes me time to reload. Also is finding shad like locating Mullet. Look for a flash. Any advice for freshwater bait will be helpful. Our ocean is failing us because of bad management so I am switching to fresh water where there is still a fish. P.S. The red tide is all the way up to Tampa Bay your old fishing hole. We are crying. Catch a largemouth the other day about the size of that football spot you had, maybe a little bit bigger, thought it was a Turtle the way it was pulling. It hit the surface and flipped up spitting the jig I was using in the process, but I could see the size.

WickedDealer what’s the difference between a spotted and largemouth?
@KermitTheGamer214 жыл бұрын
Spotted have the upper jaw flap only halfway to the eye, like a smallmouth's.

Hey, Richard, I know a spot in Birmingham where you can find the biggest spotted gar you've ever seen. It's a well-known fish in that area, and people like to talk about seeing it, and brag about when they've last hooked (and subsequently released) it. edit: I have a question from a bit of a novice to fishing: Is it worth my while to go buy live minnows, to use them on a river or lake where there is no shad? There are lots of bream, which can be a bit slow to bite, but they would be my only option for live bait otherwise.
