I know who I am. I know what I represent. I know who actually loves me and supports me. I hold my head up high. I don’t care about smear campaigns because the narcissist I used to know tells on himself. It’s how I figured him out on my own primarily. That’s all that matters. I don’t care. I went no contact. I hold the power. I am empowered.

This is one of my favourite Zen stories, I often say to myself..."just give the baby back".....as an analogy to life....the zen master was accused of cheating...when he wasnt....he was given a child to look after...that wasnt his...then after he bonded...the mother turned up.....he just gave it back...after everything that had happened to him....so when I feel like everything is happening around me and its crazy....I say to myself...."just give the baby back".

Yes!!! We CAN’T avoid the crap...unless we step in to courage, strength and fearlessness! I keep trying to avoid it all, by hiding everything from others! The other day I talked to a trusted friend! She was shocked about my husband’s emotional abuse, there was no judgement from her...just kindness & understanding. She said, “You are losing yourself respect by not facing the music! “ And I agreed! I’m super afraid of what others might think of me. My friends & family will not believe it! You are right, sir...!!!Thankyou! Reading two books, Sam V’s and Pete W’s! I am really wanting to learn!!! “I am no longer invested in trying to control your perceptions of me” Well said!

I had a smear campaign against me by a employee I fired for stealing and preforming illegal activities at my facility. She had some of her friends (flying monkeys)give me bad reviews on yelp & my social media accounts all posted on the same day. She kept her hands clean. I contacted yelp and they said it’s nothing they can do. My rating went from 5 to a 2. On social media I blocked them which made their reviews not visible. But I still get business but it is frustrating. This happened in May. I’m still open. It amazed me how people will get upset with you when they did the wrong. I was expecting the narcissist smear campaign after I fired her. I got the locks changed to my facility the next morning after. She attempted to enter for some reason the next day. When she couldn’t get in she raged on social media. She made her own website and use pictures of herself at my facility and reviews from website and social media. Her business website and business social media looks exactly like mine. It’s sick but a little entertaining to watch because she doesn’t have brick and mortar.i still monitor her from a distance just to be safe. I have learned not to engage especially when I have a whole business to lose and all she has to lose is a fake image that she portray. If I engaged I would be making a choice to lose.

This is the life I led up until a few years ago. I was so enmeshed (another old self-help/counseling term) in my relationships that I always came out feeling like I lost the battle AND the war. I kept taking the bait, falling prey to those who needed to feed off of me to gain a sense of power. I've kept a certain distance and/or completely cut ties with several people and it's been great! The only thing I fear is ever making the same mistake and allowing drama queen abusers into my life again. I THINK I know enough now that I won't, but there's always that fear.

same with either parent. Looking at the positive, at least you grow up learning exactly what to avoid and make sure your future partner is everything the abusive parent failed to be. They were not an inspiration but a warning. With that regard I am grateful for the warning. But like everything when you have the 'warning' with 99% of interactions, it does get very old very quickly and eventually even grey rocking and very rarely talking isn't enough. No contact is the only option to Sovereignty. The quicker you do that the quicker to can start to heal and move on.

Hard boundaries : ) I love when he says my discipline and dignity prevent me from engaging with them or paying any attention to them/the smear campaign. It’s brilliant. You didn’t do anything wrong so there’s nothing to be upset about. You also can’t control their actions so there’s nothing to do. When they smear campaign you they actually give you key insight into their personality, character, and mindset while you remain a grey rock. These people who do these things are pitiful, low-lives with low energy/vibration. We are Resilient, tough, and just there in the background : ) in one ear out the next.

Richard!!! Please start making more videos about this type of Narcissistic abuse... The non- romantic relationship type. The work place bullying type, the smear campaign and targeting type. I think most of your viewers are women, so.... you end up getting alot of questions about Relationship style Narc abuse with men... which is going to end up effecting mostly women because Narcs are more likely to be male. I think there are alot of men who watch your channel who have to end up making the translation to fit their specific situations which may be of the non romantic relationship type. If i made any sense there..... you know what I'm talking about!

Yes, thanks. It's all about our values and self-love. Women often have the "disease to please" and that's why they tend to abandon themselves and say Yes when they actually want to say NO. We can check how we feel in our body, our body tells us in the very first moment, we just need to be aware and listen to our feelings in our body. As soon as we've learned to love ourselves unconditionally, we will be able to defend our dignity with ease and grace.

The marriage wasn't destructive. We've been brainwashed into blaming something else. Just state the truth that the ex was extremely abusive in many ways and you left to save your children and yourself from it's poisonous attacks. Marriage partnership isn't the cause. The intentionally abusive thing in human form is the problem.

And recently when someone approached me and said well she said this about you or she said that about you, I just started laughing, and I couldn't stop. When they said what's wrong with you, she's saying all these things about you, I just say consider the source, she's a liar, and a cheater, she's done it to every guy she's been with. What would make me any different? Besides I don't care. She sends backed off the smear campaign. I haven't heard a word in at least a year. Her hatred is my water and I am a duck.

I walked away from my family years ago because they believed my narcissist brother was perfect. I was to blame for everybody else's problems. I also got a 5 yr no contact order against my narc son. Which is absolutely heartbreaking as he is the only living child I have left. 3 weeks ago I went to stay with my mother who lives in the little apartment at my brothers. I had to go get on anxiety meds while my brother was still there for the 1st week. The next 2 weeks were bliss. As soon as my brother came home it was back to the same old routine. I totaled my truck last week. My life is just a shitstorm with no place to live, recently divorced the narc husband (he admitted he was a narcissist) and I am disabled. I realized today that I don't want to go on. My soul is tired. The 2 things that keep me going are my dog and my granddaughter. Even that is loosing it's luster. It rains lile a mutha fookar in the PNW.

Richard, I would greatly love to hear your opinion on a thought I keep having. The first narc in my life was my dad. I could do nothing right, and he just didn’t like me. His entire attitude and demeanor was so critical and condescending that I would have run away if there was anywhere to go. Fast forward 35 years and he’s now in prison for life for molesting kids.... not me , but other children he adopted after my mom left him. That has left me wondering if part of the toxicity and picking others apart was an attempt to deflect attention from who he is and was.

Unfairly fired, I applied for and was granted unemployment benefits for the first time in my life, reported them to everyone I could, and they were given bad marks with the state because of it, making future claimants have an easier path with them, too. They didn't treat me right for my hard work and patient attitude, so they had to pay me for their hatefulness. I might add research revealed that they have a history of bad behavior with the public and their employees, and are banned from the neighboring metropolis because of it. :)

Refusing to listen to the smear campaign is a description of pretending. It’s unnatural and unworkable. Of course we listen - it’s our world too. You don’t always win. Sometimes bad people get away with outrageous insults. So that’s the crummy world of grown ups sometimes. Cut your losses. Get away from those people. Get out of there. Give up ASAP is how you handle it. Take your sweet self to a better place.

Being socially ostracized is painful, Richard. You said in your 21 presentation...serotonin is based on your position in the social hierarchy. Mine position is less than zero after the smear campaign. I'm just trying to make new friends now. I just let her win because I think she'd get me fired from my job if I won. I didn't even understand narcissism until the woman I dumped a year ago started a smear campaign, then I discovered these and similar videos. I lost about 90% of my friends. The remaining 10% have also been ostracized from the larger group.

I was dismayed to see you be so apparently dismissive of the power of a calculated smear campaign. Depending on the allegations, they can turn the 'flying monkeys' into vigilantes, destroying businesses, relationships and lives.

Problem is these people try to get you fired, try to find ways to plant drugs in your car and try to get you arrested, pull stunts like dragging you into court for grandparents rights etc ..

If it's work related, and it gets that bad, just trust that the GOOD people you work with will be smart enough to see past all of the abusers bullshit. If the smear campaign is truly many levels deep in the work place, and people are just firing shots at you all day then it's time to leave, or transfer to a new department. My motto for work is "Don't ever get to the point where you feel like you're STUCK there". Ignoring them can work, but some abusers are so psychopathic that they simply won't ever stop, or let up. That's what HR departments are for.

Yep, I totally get the purpose of a non-engaging response like, “Okay”. However, as a recovering Co-dependent I try to choose my words carefully these days. Saying “Okay” feels too much like the old people-pleaser in me saying “Yes” when I wish I had the courage to say, “No”. Why would I pretend to agree with any of that hot mess being spewed by saying, “Okay”? I think I’d prefer to say something like, “Oh well”.

Oh yes I saw some of the smear campaign against you Richie. Damn unpleasant it was. You are right to ignore it though. Often the people behind these things don't have anything to say that's worth listening to. I'm slowly beginning to learn this. The girl who was bothering me over the cat for instance. I recently saw her having a row with some guy and trying to smash up his car with a baseball bat. Am I really likely to be interested in anything she has to say after that? I doubt it..Yes it's best to ignore it.

To the anyone that has an abusive family. Stop listening to them and cut them off. It will never change. Ask yourself this question, “What kind of people treat their family member like shit”? You will never be able to change their minds about you no matter what you do. Start looking at the people who know they are full of shit and you will realize that there are a lot more people who are not fooled by them than you thought.

I believe what Richard is missing about this woman is that she has PTSD or at the least C-PTSD, and he's confusing it with codependency.

Thank you. Good reminder. My daughter told me not to open up the pervert topic with my abusive very elderly mother. We were on speakerphone and my mom got disrespectful and abusive with my daughter and pushed having her pervert nephew in my home. He was sexually inappropriate with me and abusive and my mother took his side many years ago and continued being abusive towards me. Anyway she pulled this shit with my daughter. At first my daughter was polite and the old thing got more abusive. My daughter stuck up for me and herself and called my mom exactly what she is....a horrible fucking person that she wants nothing to do with. And I should dump this nasty disgusting bitch and hang up on her right now. It felt great and I have no sorrow or guilt for the old abuser. It feels great to take a break from her and my brother. My health is worth it. They are both nasty nutters. The lawyers can handle property issues.

I not afraid, I now have lost all the people that the 2 of us know together, and I do not care. I am happy to meet new people and friends. I do not care how many people think I am crazy or an abuser, because I know I do not hurt people, I care about people. The best thing is to not want anything in return, and let them go and do the smear without care. Because freedom is not worrying about how ours see you, but how you see yourself that is what matters. She love no one can take that away you must give it away.
