hi, as with other elm327s it wont seem to work, i ve followed your instructions to the last letter, in torque it pairs and flashes away but wont connect to the ecu.the blue car on symbol just keeps flashing. what is wrong?? i have a ford focus estate 2003. please can you help.

Hi, is the airbag fault part of the ODB2? someone removed and reinstalled the airbag on my OPEL and the led lights up now, on with the check light. Thanks

Unfortunately the Airbag system is not part of the ODB2 protocol even though it is accessed through the same port. Try it on another car and see if it works there. You may have a defective unit or a counterfeit but you should see what I saw. Tucson and Santa-Fe are very close in operation. Thanks.

Dear Richard, Thank you very much for taking time to reply. I am having a Honda Vezel 2015 Dec. model. Some time in bumper to bumper traffic I found that the car was not moving although the engine revs were coming up. A friend of mine too had the same problem. So I think it is best to keep an eye on the oil temp. Any suggestions? I am worried about the clone of ELM 327 ICs that come with many of the ODB 2 scanners. Thanks for all the assistance.

Hi, Richard. Thanks a lot for all the assistance. If fact I did contact Honda agent in Sri Lanka, and they will give me a time to take the vehicle to them. They too said that it may be an issue with the duel clutch. Since of late while in heavy traffic I keep the car in neutral and so far did not have the issue.Will keep you all updated after the visit to the agents. Thanks a lot.

Yes I am. I am waiting for a clip from Hyundai to complete my Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) which I ordered and received that was incomplete. I could use the old clip but I want to replace the whole assembly with all new parts. I will point out how to make sure that you get the correct (complete) assembly when you order a VSS. Unfortunately I learned that not all suppliers ship the complete assembly but this was my fault for not knowing the correct part number for the complete assembly. BTW the complete assembly part number is 4651039700 and the KIA and Hyundai part are identical. Thanks I estimate that I will have the clip next week. All the best

Thanks for the video, I didn't know how to gather the fault code in Torque Lite app. Happens to be P0101 - Mass Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance. At the Nissan dealer (in Canada) they charge 90$ just to read the code !

Viewers PLEASE READ. The OBD2 connectors will work on ALL OBD2 equipped cars. The language is generic. That's why the software and apps also all work. If yours doesn't work you either have not plugged it in fully, you did not tell your device to find this on your Bluetooth page and then enter the password or you have a bad unit. There are really no other options. As simple as a table lamp. You plug it in to access power, you turn the switch on to connect to the power and light your lamp. If you have power plugged in and the switch turned and no light, you have a bad bulb.

I just bought this same bluetooth dongle and every single app I've tried tells me it can't communicate with the ECU, but I can connect to the dongle via bluetooth without a problem. Tried from both my laptop with BT and my phone. Does this thing not work for domestic cars or something?

Try it on an import, ask a friend, and see if it works there. I suspect you have a faulty unit verify it on another vehicle it should work on domestic and foreign cars. Thanks.

I had the same priblem with my ELM 327 it connects via bluetooth to my phone but when i open the Torque Pro the only display working is the Voltmeter.....tried to create a profile for my car using Torque and set the OBD2 Protocol to ISO 9141-2 and relaunched the app and voila!! its now working!!

Here`s a Honda common fault code P1298 Electric load detector, " The Electric Load Detector (ELD) measures the main current flow and sends that signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to command the alternator charging system to get fuel efficiency and decrease the drag of the engine when starting ". Apparently what ive been reading it also loads the alternator on braking, and lessens drag on acceleration. Lets hope it knows when the battery is low and to charge the damn thing, lol . Interesting engineering, I wonder how much efficiency is actually gained with this circuit? What I don't like is when it stops working it starts making the engine misfire. You have to wonder if it's worth actually having? BTW this system will not keep the voltage at 14V continuously as in most cars in fact it will only do it when it needs to. This is something the car audio enthusiasts have a real problem with. Sounds to me that this system would keep the battery chronically undercharged. I saw one comment in the above discussion that mentioned that Canadian Hondas do not have the circuit. I Canada where the temps can plummet to -50 the last thing you want is an undercharged battery. Sounds like Honda understands this but seriously for the 1 to 2 MPG extra you gain with it I say it's not worth it. Give me 14.0V output when the battery or the system needs it like ALL other cars in the world and let me worry about replacing the alternator when I need to as well as the brake pads and alternator drive belt. I imagine that if you are primarily a city driver that this system would wear out the Alternator and belts quicker than a car without this system. Thanks again. Richard Lloyd Just read that about Canada very interesting!, the guy also says the Euro models don`t have it, my sons Honda CRV has the fault code, he changes cars more than his socks : ), i agree with you i want the alternator to charge the battery proper, here our winters are not that cold, but we get long periods of very cool temps 2s 3s 4s celsius. BMWs after a run short or long, the on board computers check for 20mins, Lexus it`s 40mins, so top volts is essential to me, but what do in know.

It sounds to me like they are cheating the system to gain an extra couple of MPG's but I don't think the savings is worth the undercharged battery or the wear and tear on the alternator and belt. I prefer to know that when I drive my car for a few minutes that it will fully charge my battery and drive all my electronics at the proper voltage. Many cars continue using battery power after you turn the car off for various reasons. My Kia in hot weather will continue to run the electric radiator fan after I shut the car off to cool the radiator. I want the car to fully charge the battery next time I start it and I don't care if it uses a bit of fuel to do so. Also I don't agree with using the alternator to slow the vehicle down. Brake pads and rotors are far more effective at doing that (cheaper and easier to change too).
