This is an excellent video. I had just been working on my Ford Windstar SEL van. I cleaned the 3 oxygen sensors that are all located under the van. Oh well, that's life. I noticed that my gas mileage had gone down considerably and knew that it was time 2 clean the sensors again. It is a pain 2 clean them, but I had done this job before. Anyway, I finished cleaning the sensors, started my van and backed down from the ramp that I had put it on. I noticed that my check engine light was on, damn. I looked up on You Tube how 2 reset the Engine light, but really didn't want 2 do this because, this is my car, and I knew that the Engine lite was trying 2 tell me something. The good news is that after watching your video and going over the checklist of potential problems, I realized that I had not cleaned the carbon out of the EGR valve. I cleaned the EGR valve, started my van and the Check Engine light went out on it's own because there were no more problems with my exhaust system. Thanks again 4 your help. Keep up the good work.

Hi, You have helped me in the past. Twice in the past two years, my RAV4 V6 had CEL-VSC-4WD lights come on. Code reader said it was ignition coil and sure enough, replacing those coils (D and F) fixed the issue. A few days ago, the lights came on and code reader said it is Coil E, which is hard to get to. So, I found a mobile mechanic who will change those three coils for me that are in the back, under the intake. Appointment on Tuesday. Today, however, the CEL started flashing. I drove it a total of 4 miles with it flashing and won't drive it again till mechanic looks at it. My question is, is the flashing CEL light related to that coil E being bad? Or will I have a bigger issue to deal with? I don't have my own code reader and can't drive to Auto Zone and don't really know this mechanic and want to have an idea of what is wrong in advance. Thank you!

A lady driver here , experienced my engine light flash then the diagnostic of the mechanic is to change the spark plug but my spark plug barelt 1 yr & we did not travel a lot, do you think the mechanic is right , we did a test to check the engine stalling but there is no tools attached during the test to prove his diagnosis is correcf. My chevy trax is in /our with them due to coolant they change the water pump the 3rd tome but after 3 days the coolant decreases again Appreciate a reply.

kimpang uy you need to know what trouble code the diagnostic scanner showed. After reading your entire comment it sounds to me like you might need a new mechanic. Having to change a water pump three times sounds like a scam. You need to look and see if engine coolant is dripping anywhere otherwise you could have a small pinhole leak that bars leak might fix which you add to the engine coolant. You could also have loose engine coolant hoses or even a bad radiator cap.
