The Internet contributed to the demise of good music because people downloaded the musicians' hard work. Hence, there is no longer an incentive for musicians to put all of their efforts into singing a good song.

Song was from my senior year in high school. I had been selected to all-state choir, which was awesome. Then, on the bus trip back from Olympia, I sat with this total fox cutie from another high school clear across town... and we shared her earphone splitter on my walkman and listened to this. I was totally smitten by her and wanted our moment together to last forever. When we got back to town, she gave me a hug, and I never saw her again. But every time I hear this song... it's the fall of 1989, and all over again I'm that shy kid in high school. It's the end of the 80s, and I've got this terminal lump in my throat, and for a moment, for just a second or two, for old time sake... she's right there, listening to this with me.

Richard Marx is a great singer and song writer. so talented and wonderful singing voice. I can fall asleep listening to this song. OMG, I miss the 80's. I am a part of the class of 88 and am 53 today. Nothing can replace 80's music; the music was real and sincere.

What a time it was to be born in such an Era. The music really transcended issues of the heart. Did you hear it?! The raspiness of his voice...loud and clear. The smoothness of the tones and such a high level of precision performed with esteemed emotions. Richard Marx is one of a kind!

He was so authentic, and I fell in love with him instantly on stage because I was a young 14 year old impressionable teenager...not long after the concert I decided I was going clubbing because I felt safer than being at home with a Step Father who was under the influence of Scotch and looked at me as fair game,I saved myself from his leering and unwanted attention

I was 7 when this song came out and it brings back great memories. I'm anticipating his performance on the Grand Ole Opry tomorrow, April 2, 2022. It's not fair. I was at Astro World Houston Jun. of 1988, but he performed there a month later and I couldn't go. I lived in Louisiana about 5 minutes west of Natchez, MS and my grandmother wasn't going to drive that far for a music concert. I only found out because I bought the Right Here Waiting CD from the local pawn shop used in the early 2000s. It had the ticket stub for that concert.

So many of his songs hits the heart strings with me. Especially Right here waiting . I heard it for the first time when I was going thru a breakup with my first girlfriend. I was 15 and heart broken. Music today doesn't give you that connection. I was lucky to grow up in the 80s born in 1973 so the late 80z early 90s were my time. And I'm thankful for them and music from artist like Richard Marxx

My fiancee and I saw Richard perform a few months ago at the Rialto theater in Joliet, IL. He had an acoustic guitar and a piano. That's it. Wow! I was blown away to hear him live after not really knowing his music. Talk about talent. True entertainer that desires to connect with the live audience. Don't miss his one of his concerts/shows if you havd the opportunity to go. You WILL NOT be disappointed!

Just when I believed I couldn't ever want for more This ever changing world pushes me through another door I saw you smile And my mind could not erase the beauty of your face Just for awhile Won't you let me shelter you Hold on to the nights Hold on to the memories I wish that I could give you something more That I could be yours How do we explain something that took us by surprise Promises in vain, love that is real but in disguise What happens now Do we break another rule Let our lovers play the fool I don't know how To stop feeling this way Hold on to the nights Hold on to the memories I wish that I could give you something more That I could be yours Well, I think that I've been true to everybody else but me And the way I feel about you makes my heart long to be free Every time I look into your eyes, I'm helplessly aware That the someone I've been searching for is right there Hold on to the nights Hold on to the memories I wish that I could give you more Hold on to the nights

I was a metalhead in high school. I always wore Metallica t-shirts and holey jeans. Little did my peers know, I kept my Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy Osborne, etc. CD's on the shelf at home right next to my Celine Dion and Richard Marx CD's. I'm no longer ashamed to say it: great music is GREAT, no matter the genre. Marx's music has been a light for me through many difficult times--as much or more than anyone else's.
