Thank you for the lovely tour. I would love to spend a week there! About an hour from where I live here in Oregon, is the Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire. We go every year in September and enjoy the plays, singing/dancing, jousting and food. So many people attend the faire in costume and have a grand time. The historical reenactments by the various guilds are educational and entertaining. My imagination is combining my Shrewsbury and yours in a delightful daydream. Thanks 🙂

Shrewsbury looks like a very nice place to visit if you ask me. Especially the many old buildings and churches there!! (Except there are horrific buildings like Lloyds Bank and Crown House, which I call it the "Crown of Boringness") But also... there is this one confusing and weird thing about the place is that everyone pronounces it "SHREEWS-buree" instead of pronouncing it "SHROZ-bree", well actually I did used to pronounce it like that, but I now use the actual pronunciation. It's kind-off unknown why, but I'm probably guessing that it's the dialect there changed over time. But overall... It's quite a nice place to visit there!! (Along with Ludlow, Clun, Bridgnorth, Ironbridge, etc.) :)

We dont like it when people pronounce the O vowel not the E vowel. You'll get yourself in a spot of bother - It's only the posh lot on the other side of the river that pronounce it "shrowsbury" It's spelled with an E not an O - So it's SHREWSBURY
@omegafilmcorporation3 жыл бұрын

Richard, my old mate, try to do your videos on a dry sunny day as opposed to a wet day which presents the place in a rather drab scene. I’ve said this before as it rings true in nearly every town centre, that although the history is higher up as you say, it is spoilt by the ‘Superdrug's and Argos’s’ etc of this world, located beneath, as opposed to the small individual shops and tea rooms of yesteryear. Good video though 👍.
