Thanks for the video Rich! I really enjoyed the song selection with REO, Styx, Kansas just to name a few…and walking on a thin line, you don’t hear those everyday and you guys nailed them!

Yeah, those tones are kind of this bands brand, doing classic rock covers as close as we can get them to the original.
@jimmyfrombrooklyn85504 ай бұрын
Thanks for posting these videos, they’re super helpful. I still drag out tube combos to gig, and resisted modelers as much as possible lol. But the Tonex one is an attractive option if even just for a backup in case of a combo failure. The in ear thing I’ve resisted too, but might have to give in at some point because certain gigs require them. Great stuff Rich, and Afu is endlessly entertaining!

great vlog, bands sounds great and excellent of variety. I just picked up a ToneX One and I also own a Katana 50 MKII and the HX One stomp. I haven't made the switch to using the ToneX or Katana at gigs but I come up with great tones to use at home. One day I will! Amps are heavy and I'm an old working man guitar player. I use the HX One on my mini pedal board mostly for modulation effects. Thanks for sharing. Take care

Yep, I am getting older also. It's nice not to have to haul heavy amps, even though I still like having them behind me on stage pushing air.

For distorted in ears… It matters whether your in ear receives line level or instrument level… If you’re having an overdriven sound in your ears, make sure that the Sound Guy turns down the master volume on your ear channel to -18db -20 db. You can also see if there is a switch on your in ear receiver, where you can switch between line level or instrument level.

Sounded great. I use IEM almost exclusively. They take some getting used to but mine sound great. I do have the customs from JH Audio and run Shure and Senn wireless units. I also bought a Tonex One about a month ago. It's a great little unit. I have yet to try it in conjunction with my HX Stomp.

Nice sounds! Nice playing! One question, how do you set the fx loop in the stomp to use it with the tonex one???
@mritchea4 ай бұрын
Do you ever use the Katana’s effects to reduce having to carry out your pedalboard?
@RichBischoff4 ай бұрын
No, only because I like the control. I know they make some foot controllers. But I only like the katana as a clean platform for pedals. The distorted sound in Katana don't do it for me.
@mritchea4 ай бұрын
@@RichBischoff Thanks for your answer. I’m pretty much the same, using a clean platform and front loading the pedals. I don’t have any amps with an effect loop, so I don’t know if that would change the sound.

hi Rich, thanks for all the videos, i am a long time sub. I have got a question: with tonex in the loop of hx, do you feel some latency?
@RichBischoff4 ай бұрын
No latency.
@1969Donovan4 ай бұрын
Do you run the stomp in the power amp plug of the Katana.
@RichBischoff4 ай бұрын
Nope used my regular pedalboard for the katana gigs.
@gibs84124 ай бұрын
I hardly ever turn my katana on, maybe at home once in awhile, I have an hx stomp on my gig board, use it every song for reverbs mods and delays, have the tonex 1 on my board loaded with drive pedals but have not used it yet. What do you have on your tonex? where in your chain if not as drive pedal?
@@RichBischoff right on, tried it this way, a/b switched it w my friedman irx as the preamp, which use the later as my preamp. And I prefer the power amp of my combos or larger amps, so its destined to be a back up pedal in my bag or as a drive pedal, lol
@Gerry-p1u4 ай бұрын
Thanks for these, it shows what a pro muso has to do to make a livin! From those beautiful stages with Toast to a front verandah for a rich bloke!! Also, how are you using the Iridium when using real amps? And to quote Neil Young “Live music is better, bumper stickers should be issued”.
@RichBischoff4 ай бұрын
