@@RichandFreb hello po sir, kindly do a sioapo recipe using instant yeast po
@louispotter90514 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for posting this! Usually, I use active dry yeast when I bake bread but today I decided to use instant dry yeast. I never used instant dry yeast before. I put the instant dry yeast directly to the dry ingredients and mix and knead the dough. Then I put it in a bowl to make it rise and I set the timer to 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, I checked the dough and it’s still the same size. It didn’t rise. That’s the reason I looked up how to use instant dry yeast and I saw this video. I live in Alaska and the temperature is going down as winter gets closer. Now I know what to do. I need to wait for a little longer because it’s cold inside our house. Thank you again!

I also saw the comment and this was also the first time I knew about that. I just know how to use them, but it is nice to know also the reason behind. God bless!
@jenniferhutchison34903 жыл бұрын
You actually added MORE instant yeast, 1t of instant yeast is 3.15g and active dry yeast is only 2.83g. Active dry yeast has a coating on it that needs to be dissolved first, instant does not, hence you can add without dissolving first. Using Baker's percentages you would want to have 2% of active dry yeast in a recipe and only 1% of instant yeast in a recipe. Hopefully this is helpful :)

What makes the bread soft? Is it through kneading or in the ingredients? Is egg makes the bread soft for a longer time?
@RichandFreb4 жыл бұрын
Magandang araw po, there are a lot of factors and it mostly involves kneading and the yeast. For my bread, I usually knead 2 cups atleast 10-12 minutes, then I let them rise for atleast 3 times (the second rise is considered rest for 10 minutes). God bless!
@rhymeandreasoning4 жыл бұрын
I knead bread dough or any dough hardly at all. I do it before it has to sit to rise, but I don't over do it, and once it rises I never punch it down, or knead it more. I don't even flour the board. I just cut pieces from bowl, and shape and put into pans, and rise again, and bake. This is how I do it, and what works for me, others might not like or do it.

Magandangaraw po! There are several factors that might've caused this. How warm is the liquid that you poured into your active dry yeast? If it is too hot, the yeast will die (yeasts are living organisms). Make sure that the liquid that you will pour is less than or equal to 40C. Another things is how warm is your kitchen? The colder it is, the longer it would take for the dough to rise. For me, at 21C, it took a little over 3 hours for the dough to rise. I hope this helps and GOd bless!

Magandang araw po, I have read in some of the comments that that is what they also do with instant dry yeast and it works out great too. God bless!

I add instant dry yeast to the warm water to bloom and add it to the flour, my bread was little bit sour. Next day I add instant yeast directly to the flour and it wasn't sour. Is it possible

Sorry I haven't experienced that yet. God bless!

Hi I added active dry yeast 2tspn in 1 cup of lukewarm milk with 2 Tyson sugar..but it's not blooming/ activated after 20 minutes too..wht was the mistake I did..pls reply

There might be several reasons, like the yeast is expired, or the milk is too hot and the yeast dies. Check the expiration date of the yeast and for the temp of the liquid, make sure it will not exceed 40C. Hope this helps, God bless!

Thanks! Informative video! We now know you could get the same result regardless what type of yeast you're using. I guess you could interchangeably use them to what's available to you. My question is how do you substitute one to the other? Is it the same measurement? If the recipe calls 2 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast, how much of instant dry yeast would that be? Is it 1:1 ratio just like in this sample video? Thanks in advance! 👍🏼☺️

Magandang araw po, yes,1:1ang ratio nya. In regards to which should we use, I would use whatever is available on my location, basta i know the process of activating the yeast. Glad to help and God bless!

I just Google the recipes name... and type for example: Cinnamon Rolls using instant yeast. Sometimes Google is faster than vids if you're really wanting to get exact measurements and TRUST ME there's 1,000s of blogs on any topic imaginable!

maybe a silly question but...when using instant yeast is it necessary to compensate for the liquid used in active yeast? thanks
@RichandFreb4 жыл бұрын
Magandang araw po! I still use the same amount of liquid whether I use active or instant dry yeast. The only difference is I add the active dry yeast to the liquid. If I will use instant dry yeast, I will add the yeast directly to the flour and add the same volume of water later. God bless!

Instant dry yeast should be put also in warm water with sugar before it pour in a flour with salt..only an hour it double the size and more....try it..

Thanks for the tip! Somebody who took culinary class mentioned that to me also, but I still have to try it myself. Thanks and God bless!
