Also note that of Willis’ two incompletions, one was a throw away, and the other one was right on the money, but the receiver couldn’t bring the ball down after getting hit by a defender. So basically, every single one of this throws got to where they were meant to go.

GB has an excellent QB coach in Tom Clemens and Lafleur is a solid play caller. A lot of entrenched, quality QB history. But credit to the team. Good blocking, good running, and a defense that didn't force GB into a pass heavy attack. This was a game we used to lose, but this one just felt good
@Grable424

I mean I think it just depends on the QB. They gave up on michael pratt after a single training camp, and guys like Tim Boyle spent years here. Lafluer certainly cooked up a good gameplan for Willis that he could realistically produce with though. It's good to know they can win with a backup. I thought he did everything they asked of him.
@Grable424
@Grable424 8 күн бұрын
@@Erik_Ice_Fang Exactly, the Packers definitely put QBs in a better place to succeed than other franchises, but it's not like any guy can just come in and produce. Credit to Malik, i think he did something a lot of guys would have failed at yesterday. And he did it with a very calm head the entire time. No panic in his game.

It's one thing to draw up a good game plan.....it's another thing to get the entire team to execute it nearly flawlessly. Even all 3 of GB's punts were downed inside the 16 with 2 inside the 10. Total team win.

Our one nagging issue right now is we don't score touchdowns in the red zone. 49ers last year, Philly last week...we get early turnovers with great field position. Come away with 3 or nothing. @@christopherweise438in a perfect game, Jacobs 1st TD doesn’t get called back for the hold, he holds the ball into the endzone, and we don’t miss the FG. Proud of the win, but I think the whole league looks at this win differently if we end it 30-10.

People are forgetting that this particular game plan worked because of the THREAT of Willis mobile abilities. That's why it opened up the run so much. Now imagine game planning for this once Malik learns their full playbook and builds chemistry with those receivers? Sky's the limit because Malik can make ALL the throws. His detractors are really clueless in how much better Malik has become as a pocket passer. He's a true duel threat once he gets comfortable in a system, but he needs the GAME REPS for that to happen. My Titans wouldn't give him the reps he needed to help him develop😞.

A couple years ago people were calling for LaFleur to be fired. I've never supported that and I know Rodgers had some people convinced it was him who ran the offense those MVP years and not LaFleur. With what LaFleur has done with this young team last year going into this year (including this masterpiece of a running game on Sunday with a newly added, very young QB), he'll be sticking around for awhile. 🤷‍♂👍

Packers 167 rushing yards in quarter one was a bit nostalgic. Lombardi’s Packers were running the sweep, opponents knew they were running the sweep and it couldn’t be consistently stopped. Such a naive viewpoint 🤦‍♂️ Everyone has tape on the best QBs too and it doesn’t stop them from being great! If it were only about “knowing their style” or “watching their tendencies”, the most successful players would be those that no one has ever seen play before. Besides, game plans and play calling changes every single game in the NFL. Tape helps to prepare, but isn’t an indicator of success in any way shape or form. To think volume of film available on any given player is a guide to how they will play or perform is just an indication of obliviousness by the person making said assumption
