I love Tomlin and don't want to lose him but he may be your head coach if they don't start winning playoff games. All I know is if he gets fired someone will offer him a record breaking contract in no time. I know he got an extension but they may do a payout if it doesn't work out although I think it would be a mistake. People forget Charlie Batch started 3-1 as the starting QB in the beginning of the 2010 season After Ben’s 4 game suspension was served. He was immediately named the starter. Ben had a career year and Steelers went to the SB. They ultimately lost to a red hot Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Bottom line is Tomlin is 95% likely to start Russ when healthy. Fields would have to be lighting up the scoreboard for him to remain the starting QB

Ben won 2 superbowls for the steelers at that point. Russ is a reclamation project at this point. It's not as concrete as Ben vs Charlie. Plus Charlie was always the backup

This is where I am. Fields has done enough, and the Steelers are 2-0, but this is good QB2 stuff. I think the points will come once the OL play improves. If the offense lights it up, then sure Fields is the hot hand and you roll with him. But if it's 150 yards passing, 13-10 type game again I'm fine with Russell Wilson getting a shot once healthy.
