This series has been fantastic! I have this feeling that there is a bit of overboard "plot armor" for Loth here and there, but I have always loved the Drow the lore I did know, and I have learned a lot more from these videos that I didn't know at all. All of your series are really great at giving really deep dives into the lore!

So, a dumb question from a Forgotten Realms fan, but does Lolth have anywhere near as much lore on Greyhawk? For so many years, that was the central realm of D&D, while FRCS was a side set written by another author. Drow obviously appear in my 2e Monster Manual, and that would be Greyhawk, but so much of what we know of them seems to be of the Drow of Faerun, whether because of Ed Greenwod's world-building, or R.A. Salvatore's books. Does Lolth have a similar history on Oerth? They conveniently have an Underdark, too? Is it all the same, but with different names, like an Oerth equivalent to Menzobaranzan, the Baenres, the Crown Wars, etc? What is there to Her, and them, if we ignore Toril?

There is a LOT of history still to uncover, so definitely more in the future, just do not have any concrete dates. The FR wiki is most people go to site. I think the lore is pretty light there to be honest, but I do use the cites quite often so I can dig into my own books.

Between this and the first video, seems to me that the easiest patch to some of the weirdness and propaganda feeling of the Araushnee phase of her origin story, would be to just have Lolth have been a preexisting demon that possessed/ate/merged with Araushnee so as to gain her domain over dark elves. After all, gods merging and splitting apart isn’t really anything new to DnD… one such case literally happened in said Araushnee myth.😅 Hell, they sometimes even seem to dip into non-linear time.
