I met George Harrison at his Richie's townhouse in the village. Also Bob Marley at Richie's crib. And countless other giants. They all came to Richie's pad when they were in the village. Richie was my godfather. How blessed is that.

Richie was my brothers best. Imagine him in and out of our house every day. and then him and my brother joined the youth choir. I was there at 12.And then the magic started. went to Viet NAM and my friends used to bring me his songs. . weloved Richie

I have the original vinyl album with this track. Cat Stevens original might be moving but this makes me choke. I never knew my father and wonder what sort of words he might have said to me.

This may possibly be one of Richie Havens best covers. Cat Stevens original version is great too but this version brings tears to my eyes. It's a shame the sound isn't better.

Richie Havens' record company should release a digital recording of The Great Blind Degree in memory of the man. My vinyl copy has been played almost to destruction. I miss you Richie.

I totally agree. It's such a great album. I've checked Amazon countless times over the past 25 years or so to see if a digital release was ever on its way. (It's possible I could transfer my vinyl version - which I've had for around 45 years - to CD, but it's not quite the same as a remastered version.) Still living in hope. Peace out!
