i guess the point really is to have an alternative to what's out there. the approach with a semi parametric EQ definitely provides a lot of new possibilities, while it cuts out some of the known techniques. i think it'd be a nice journey for every dj to try out what he or she can achieve with this mixer, sadly the price tag will eliminate it from coming to the homes, even though the built quality might justify it.

Ah youtube's comment section is the wild wild west for me ahahahahahah! So, here we are, 7 years after, enough time for all the skeptics and haters to get over it... Is just a good mixer and you peeps what's even better? The little brother of this mixer that came out about a year (or 2) ago, called "Model 1.4". Bought one for our events and well,, it is so good that I ended up taking it with me home so that I can play with it! The name of the company matches perfectly the concept behind this mixer. I mean, someone decided to change the concept of dj mixers by designing this product and despite it didnt manage to become the new "inudstry standard" (like the xone 92 has been since its first release for example, which this mixer was designed to replace) because it was probably too revolutionary and too early and also because as we all know, humans develop habits and is hard to change an habit and replace it with a new one in the middle of your career. Nonetheless, I think in some years, this mixer will become a bit of a niche cult, the creative possibilities offered here are unique and those djs who will have the balls to invest the money to buy it will find out later this is the definitive mixer of their career! Respect to the A&H team for giving a platform to their Xone series lead designer Andy Rigby Jones and also for taking the suggestion of such a great and acclaimed touring dj aka Richie Hawtin who provided a huge help in the designing of this masterpiece and also for the smaller and more compact model 1.4!

3 bad things with this mixer. 1- 2x [DSUB] sound card input, 2x power supply input (why not make 3 then just to be extra sure), 2x[LINK] mixer input, just so that another guy can hear your que on his model 1, but oh wait there are already 2 split ques on the mixer for B2B... And trust me this definitely adds more $$ to the price tag, and will never ever be used in the real world. 2- No resonance or lfo for filter, which kinda defeats the purpose of filter it self. [Only master Filter has 1, but why use channel filters or vice versa then anyway?] 3- Pointless 3 band EQ instead of isolator on the master. Its a bad version of xone 92, again focusing on the market for making you believe its a new product and a new way of work, when in reality it stripped down the features and offered a new work flow, which is very "experimental and individual". BUT! There is 1 thing they nailed and that is the BOOTH EQ. Now that I clap. P.S. There is sometimes crosstalk in the headphones. Still wanting to give them £2.5k?? I thought so.

Why Why Why no Master insert to incorporate the Master isolator like an ars 3500? Major fail! Major fail is also not including a switch to modify the way the upfaders work and sound! Just like on the xone 96! You make it in Silver itteration and you have the greatest dj mixer ever built. Period. Maybe a rotary version for us rotary heads! Id have 2 of them one fader and one rotary Just so i look at them! Any how ill be getting one Despite the fals on the Master insert and fader curve switch. And the studio style fader caps. The ones on the xone 62 are better and ill switch them.

@LJM2stepspain8 жыл бұрын
+ADRIANO being able to use the master EQ will make mixes where there are 2 or 3 songs stacked on top of each other wayyyy more amazing and cohesive. The new approach of no EQ per channel and mostly effects seems to be them focusing on their style of djing which no mixers on the market cater to. Dubfire, Hawtin, CocoDrills; these people find specific sounds and mix them together and make a continuous stream of music instead of mixing very seamlessy between specific songs like most DJs. All of this is to say that the new mixer will allow them to boost the bass instead of turning the "lows" knob past 50% or turning the low pass filter a little bit which were the only two options on nearly every other mixer on the market.
@matuslajda8 жыл бұрын
+LJM2stepspain so, when I djing without filters, than I don't need this right?
@LJM2stepspain8 жыл бұрын
+Matus Lajda thats a good question. I would say this mixer probably would not do too well in a setting where transitions are done from 1 song to anther song. This seems like a tool to help stack songs and not have them clash against each other. While you could turn the highs down on deck A if deck B has a good set of highs notes playing; I imagine this mixers "filters" are really just like tweaking all 3 eq knobs differently. That boost knob? It probably pushes the mid range up a little bit or something similar. You see where i'm going with this? at 4:49 he talks for a bit about all the filters toning down parts of the songs.
@Ninja_Gaijin8 жыл бұрын
