Who cares if Lou didn't look like Ritchie. He did an amazing job portraying this hugely talented modest young man. Because of this film Ritchie will live on. Its desperately sad that this amazing kid was taken too soon. He wrote extremely catchy memorable songs and I'm in no doubt he wouldn't have been a three or four hit wonder and would have gone on to have a long career writing music that would have stood the test of time. What an utterly devastating and untimely loss he was too the music business. Now reunited with his mother resting in eternal peace.

You know you are a legend when you have a career of just 8 months and still be remembered and honoured even after 60 years of your passing. Rip Ritchie Valens Edit: Changed 7 months to 8, as many people commented that. Thanks for correction.

There's nothing, no interviews, no merchandise, no video clips, his career was literally just taking off right before we could get all that would be valuable shit, thats why he is such a myth, such a legend, all we got is the music, lots of it counting the short time he had to produce it, we love you Ritchie.

I grew up hearing his music. He was the same age as my dad so his music was always on in the house and of course any relatives house for that matter. What a trailblazer for us Latinos. RIP
