Davi Fernandes Yeah, those early shred days... Glad he brings us this great music now! Shredding is great fun, but I have so much more respect for someone with good songs and ear for melody! Richie is probably the best musician imho... He has a great balance between technique, songwriting, singing and he's a monster player on about every instrument he ever put his hands on...

When I see and listen to Richie always think that it is kind of unfair that one individual was gifted with so much talent, I dont know of any other artist in the world that has it all at this level, such an incredible singer, guitar player, songwriter, producer, instrumentalist, lyricist, he has everything and does it at a level just a few musicians in history has reached, it is simply out of this world!!!
@tomdaniels33924 жыл бұрын
Nobody knows who richie kotzen is so I have to disagree with you, just because He sings and writes songs doesnt put him at the top of history People like Hendrixs who are virtuoso singer songwriters and people know who they are, are the best in history. The fact that no one knows who Kotzen is in it self tells you how meaningless he is to history and how much of a over statement you have made So many people have made it so much further in music than this guy, just let Album sales tell you that Eddie Van HAlen/Hendrix sold more Albums in a day than this guy will do in his entire life
@tomdaniels33924 жыл бұрын
Lindsey Buckingham is another guy who has all of those qualities and was a huge success(Fleetwood MAc) Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, SRV, to name a few more and all with real album sales success!!!!! Kotzen has done nothing and will easily be forgotten
@xavoblues74 жыл бұрын
@@tomdaniels3392 First of all: I am clearly talking about his talent, not his level of success or album sales, you gotta understand that all the other guitar players lived in a different period of time, when a lot of people appreciated this kind of music, and they were milestones in rock history because they were the first ones to do this ord that. The fact that Richie Kotzen is not that famous is because he got to live in a time where the music industry works very differently, today they create "artists" that sell, have one song with great success and then disappear to make room for the next one. I am talking about an artistic perspective here, as a guitar player and producer I know how difficult and deep is the way Kotzen plays, sings and produces, it is simply a level that just a few artists have reached, aside from the level of fame they obtained, that is a different subject, but if you don't like him, thats fine, it is your right, I admire him and look up to him because I really dig this kind of craft, it is my right too, so if you like better Lindsey Bucckinham or whoever, just go to their channels and enjoy that, let us enjoy this!! and have fun!

I think the distance between his dynamic and ceiling is too close together. And the drums are a little stale. I think those are the bigger flaws in his writing that could be why he hasn’t gained much traction in the rock world. That or his stuff is so out there that it doesn’t quite appeal to the rock demographic that don’t have music or instrumental experience. And yes of course the music is bullshit. But I feel that there are reasons for his lack of popularity besides the music industry itself.

He has come a long way. Paid his dues climbed his way up to be a well noted guitar player. I think he should be more recognised he's much better than a lot of the so called guitar hero's. Poisens singer put a damper on richies career a bit after the native toung album. But Richie got past that. His new band is on fire! Saw them live at Penns Peak. In Jim Thorpe PENNSYLVANIA. Close to richies home town in wyomissig Reading area. I knew him when he was 15 yrs old playing at local night club the Silo just outside of Reading Pennsylvania. Arthur's museum was the band he played lead guitar in. Those of us who knew him kinda knew he would make it one day in the rock world he craved. True American rocker. When he left for Hollywood to record with Poisen I talked with him at the Silo good bye party. Good kid. Approachable talkative. Tried to get a chance to talk to him at Penn's Peak show. Rock star now. I didn't have a chance. Lol....
