Do you do a solar powered unit as my driveway gates are a long way from any power source?

hi what is i need the gate to open 140 degrees can i do that or i need extra accessories

Hi @cocolove. Our swing arms will allow a maximum of 110° based on the mounting position. For a system with 140° you will need a specialist opener. If you contact our gate support team at [e-mail] they may be able to assist further.

What if dimension A and B are shorter than the recommended range?

Hi Mark, The mounting dimensions are directly related to the maximum range of motion. Mounting outside of the chart range will limit you below 90 degrees of movement and can result in complete loss of movement. Submit a request at gatesupport.richmondau.com with some pictures of your gate and one of our technicians will be able to help.

What is stopping it from being forced open or blown open?

Hi Kecup, Internally, each arm is operated by a DC motor and steel worm drive. This also holds the motor in a stationary position when closed so that the gate can not be pushed open.

@@RichmondCastors If it holds the motor in a stationary position when closed so that the gate cannot be pushed open, what purpose does the GTR169 Electric lock serve? If there a certain amount of force that will open the gates?

@@alexcampbell4301 I think it might be to add a categorical difference between a gate that shuts and a locked gate. Insurance purposes?

@Alex Campbell As a general rule, swing gate motors of different types will have roughly 3 degrees of travel with some force applied. It would take a decent impact from a vehicle (or a group of very motivated individuals) to damage the internal gearing of the motor and allow the gate to open completely. Having a gate lock fitted would mean they would also likely need to have some tools handy to bypass the lock.
