Liked your screenplay idea on JRE. Would be cool start to the play to show what happened to that guy and his sad ending and then rewind time and show you going in to get your coffee and thinking about how to write a play about the guy and thinking about his life. And you or someone else could go say hi to him daily and start forcing conversation and interaction and show how his life improves when he gets out of his comfort zone and end the alternate timeline differently for him with him getting his life together. Cool idea though, great podcast!

I’ve known about it, in part because of DonutMedia. I know it’s not an option for larger-scale operations, but what’s stopping you guys from building your own small to midsize tractors? It’s not like they have to be street legal, who’s gonna get in your way? Before purpose-built tractors caught on, there were kits to turn road vehicles into tractors (that’s how Ford got involved with ag equipment, people were already converting Model Ts). Find an old diesel that’s easy to work on and put it in a tractor that’ll accept it, or build your own using a junkyard Ram chassis as the basis. Am I missing something here?

I’m a farmer but a lot different from this. We just do the hay without the livestock and we do 110lbs 3 string bales instead of the 2 string maybe 50-60lb bales that they are running. We farm the hay for profit while they farm theirs for their livestock so 2 strings just make more sense for them. It’s always cool to see real farming on KZbin. Real people making it out there just like me and my family. Keep it up
@wabash15812 жыл бұрын
I have worked on a few farms. Bailing hay, is a job. Stacking the hay in a loft, is also a job. Getting paid very little, for the very demanding work, the hardest job of all. That said. One of the greatest feelings ever (for me at least) is sitting back after a hard days work on a farm. There are so many tasks and new ones, expected and unexpected, pop up all the time. Tackling the tasks and pushing forward, is rewarding feeling. I wish you and you and your family the best!
@jimi2722 жыл бұрын
That’s why here in Europe, all bigger farms (the size of the one in the video might be small in American terms but big in Swiss terms) make big round or quadratic balls ( 200/up to 500kg) That way we can stack them with a crane inside the stable…

I think the "faceless man" is an awesome idea. Tell the story how it really is, him passing and nobody noticing but then the lives of the people he somewhat interacted with on the daily beforehand and their moral compass when they find out what really happened and how that changed them. That could add the happiness to the end. Theres always some good out of any bad if you look hard enough

I miss being on my grandmother land with the cows but I don't miss that manual labor. I was the only one of her grand kids that could use her riding mower to cut all of her grass while my cousins could only use the push mower. Every time we visited my grandmother as soon as we get out the car after making a 2 and a half hour drive she put us to work even when we were in our nice clothes. That was a lot of our summers and holidays growing. When people have the nerve to tell me I don't know nothing about being out in this heat I just think about working in those fields in 100+ degree weather.

Simple truck with the ext cab. Nice to travel with. It’s cheaper and much better to repair the older vehicles than the new outrageous repair bills for 50-70k vehicles now. Plus I bought the 1972 Dodge for $2700 and it’s now worth 35-40k. I have other things to spend my hard earned money on than a brand new, not worth it car.
