I had the opportunity to meet Kristian and Gustav in Kona, after we all had a tough day out on the Queen K. They were welcoming, encouraging, humble, vulnerable, and curious. Fantastic ambassadors for the sport. They’re both already incredibly accomplished, yet have that fire inside them all champions possess. Can’t wait to listen and watch what these guys do in the future. All aboard the Norwegian Hype Train ❤

Please, go back into previous Kona's data and you will find that each year when the wind wasn't there the bike splits were faster and some breaking records. Well athletes that abuse of that non wind conditions will pay the price later. No much to think about it. I'm still amaze that KB with that heavy build up can sustain endurance races.

Football world championships take place every four year. Hence, I don't understand why it's such a big deal that an athlete has to wait two years to get back to Kona. I think Côte d'Azur is a nice environment in general and it's good that athletes get chance to compete in different places because some are not as strong in heat as others. It doesn't justify calling something World championships if it was organized in the one location every single time.
@mamoun15
@mamoun15 Ай бұрын
I get your point of view but there is also an argument to have the Worlds Champ in one of the toughest courses on the planet. I don't think that's unfair. If you can't manage the heat, you don't deserve to be world champion

Just listening to his analysis of his run deficit before the Paris Olympics, it seems like an easy fix would be to lose some weight. Extra body weight hurts your run speed way more than it hurts the swim or bike. If the Norwegian Method is so scientific, this seems like an easy fix with diet.

@pro-fondeurs
@pro-fondeurs Ай бұрын
Right. That's the only "flaw" in this otherwise great interview. Rich Roll had many occasions to bring the topic of KB weight, fat, or body type (whatever you want to call it). I disagree with anyone telling it is body type. Yes, he is not ectomorph like Alex Yee. But when he won the Olympics (and raced ITU triathlons prior to his switch to long distances), he was much leaner. He gained so much volume in is upper body in the last few years. It raises questions. Many. But, for sure, it is one of the main reason why he was, like he said, 50-60 sec behind leaders in Paris for the run. 5 pounds over a 10 km, it's exactly that gap. Then, with a body like his, dealing with Kona's heat is cleary a bigger challenge. Then, about the aborted pro cycling project, the main problem with his ambitious goals was his weight. At the higher stage, in cycling, you won't compete against the best if your power to weight ratio in not suited for the big climbs. It would have been very tricky to bring up the topic of his body shape in the interview, but we would really like KB to talk about it and explain how it is possible that despite all this evidence-based scientific method and carefull monitoring of every physiological little detail he got to the point where his body looks weird among short course triathletes (it was not 4-5 years ago). The only problem...is that we have to aknowledge that this change could also well be due to some kind of doping. Hearing doubtful answers from KB would only create doubts about it (what has not been done, from what I know)

@pro-fondeurs
@pro-fondeurs Ай бұрын
@@Slow.Smooth About my comment, you are absolutely right. Why did I comment on KZbin? And, I mean it, sincerly. I could and should shut up. The fact is that I have better things to do, such as taking care of those quite good not so bad level athletes I coach, like I have been doing for the past 25 years or so. No one won everything like KB did, far from that. But when coaching you quickly learn that results are not always a proof everything was fine leading to them. Now, that's it for me. I go back to athletes I have to take care of. I do not need to spend more time here because it is truly useless, indeed.

You have enough carbohydrates and energy stores to run numerous marathons fatigue is controlled by blood sugar control Look into professor Tim Noakes he can help get you back .

KB is the GOAT or our sport. Nobody comes close. Only MA was close but in the age of the dinosaurs. MA won Kona and Avignon world's months apart. Frodeno needed 7 years btw his short course world title and IM world title, something KB did in months and on a harder IM course in Utah. Then KB went BACK DOWN to the Olympics. Jan could never do that. Unrivaled GOAT status for KB. Jan could never cross over distances in a season because he never had the ability to. Many people have done what Jan has done but much faster. And head to head, KB was better than Jan also. They beat each other once but KB's gap over Jan in PTO Ibiza was much bigger than Jan's gap over KB at PTO US open... and KB was ranked PTO #1, crushing Jan as a....... SHORT COURSE athletes with no TT training. KB's part-time side hustle (PTO and IM) was better than all long course athletes with TT position training.
