I shared an office with Dr. Gupta at Michigan. Very nice man and caring physician. I'm glad that he is adopting, (if not fully), the way of eating that is best for animals, (as well as human animals), and the world. My heart disease was reversed and life changed by eating whole plants. Peace and Plants!

@9:00 "The majority of the people you inspire, you will never meet." Thank you Rich Roll and co. Your influence and these conversations are cathartic for me. I'm vegan partly from listening to your podcasts and some of your vegan guests. I do all that I can to minimize my impact on our planet and to live a humane and cruel-free life. Yes, corporations/politicians should step up, but it's obvious we're on our own here. How we live our lives and spend our money matters. Keep up the good fight.

Rich, you've changed my life through your book. I just recently completed my first 50 mile run as a 100% vegan runner. All thanks to you for opening me up to the power of diet and the ultra endurance community a couple years back. I am now in the best shape of my life at 24 and have the drive to continue to grow. I very much appreciate you as an individual and am so grateful to come across your story. I'm know I am not the only one. Always wish you the best and look forward to more community guest like Gupta. Thank you!

Sorry but how can you love the US health care system. It's awful..a money making machine, preying on those with any money and suffering from succumbing to the equally awful and predatory, food, agricultural and pharma industries. A disgrace in what is one of the world's richest countries.

An incredibly inspiring podcast. Not only form the science point of view but...it just gives a whole new perspective on possibilities and believing in one's abilities and dreams. Being a student, I felt truly uplifted hearing such amazing stories showing that if you want, you really can become anyone and enjoy your life to the maximum potential. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting such role models for the discussion and being one yourself as well!

In some way or another, we're all constantly chasing health, and seeking out better ways to live our lives. Once we find what works for us, we need to do it everyday until it becomes so ingrained in us that we can't imagine life any other way.

His closing point -- social isolation kills. Holy cow. This was before Covid even started, and Sanjay Gupta was already considering social isolation one of the biggest threats to our health and longevity. When this is all over and the numbers come out -- the non-Covid casualties of the shutdowns such as suicides, overdoses, depression -- it will be a wake-up call. As always, Rich is the best interviewer ever.

We live in a society that has such denial around our food addictions that we need experts to discuss whether or not breakfast is healthy. That’s how out of touch most of us are with our natural hunger drive. The basic answer should be, eat when you’re hungry, and when that slight watering of the throat arrives, fuel your body with whole nutrient dense plant foods. Keep animal products to a minimum and you’re golden.

Always liked Sanjay’s segment on TV. No TV now thank goodness. How do you decide early to be a doctor?? My niece decided in third grade to be a doctor of veterinary medicine! She achieved her goal and finished her Ph.D. as well. Cheers for large animal doctors!! To Sanjay’s point on suicides, have you seen the stats on veterinarians? Would be a good podcast.
