27:42 i would like to add something. Many people speculate that the video was actually made by Scizzy, thus explaining why nothing weird or paranormal happens, even when the player enters the pond. This implies that CGMV is the only one being haunted by the weird figure. As for the description, maybe CGMV told Scizzy about the weird shit that keeps happening in his copy of gmod 9 so Scizzy decided to check if his copy was also haunted. Also it seems that the shadow figure originated in the pond, given how it came out of it, and then flooded the entirety of gm_construct in the latest video EDIT: this becomes even more evident if you look at the file path in the description, which mentions Scizzy

Badwater's Scout torture vid is genius. It shows us the lengths he has gone to torture a Scout who has meddled with his world, his script, and in doing so, exposed just how evil he is, by having us see what the Scout sees. Yeah, the gore is in your face, but honestly, that is the point. To demonstrate that those aren't clones, that is the same Scout that Badwater brought back to life to torment over and over, to punish Scout.

I think that "engineer land" is a video basically showing what happened when Gunslinger first booted up the game/showed up in gmod. It seemed all awesome and cool to the sentient ragdolls until he started getting violent and controlling them.

Out of all of the theories I've seen show up in the comments of the video, I think this one is probably the coolest in my opinion. The idea that he just stumbled straight into it and the only reason he became a complete sadist is because "absolute power corrupts absolutely." It honestly makes him even more sinister than someone who purposely created or co-opted some other method or tools or wherein he coded his own "sentient" NPCs. That the violence and manipulation were spurred on by an entirely accidental discovery, and that it was a gradual change instead of something that happened immediately. That sounds a lot more compelling than someone being a sadistic asshole just because he's also one IRL.

This actually makes sense, there's a POV shot in engineer land where his TFsona is getting off the bus that isn't present in the original commercial, so it's a weird addition if it doesn't mean anything. The video definitely seems to be metaphorical, the sentient ragdolls existing in the village where everyone works, and gunslingerpro2009 arriving to "have fun" with them. I also like the idea that he didn't start as sociopathic but became that way because he didn't have anyone to stop him when he started going too far, after all the protagonist in-universe is only a child.

Interloper is actual professional horror told through Gmod as opposed to a warping of a familiar style of very unprofessional video, and it's fucking great. The sound design and the cinematography and the pacing of events when spooky things happen invokes genuine wholehearted dread and fight-or-flight, whereas a lot of these draw me in and scared me more interested than scarwd, because i dont feel nearly as threatened as i do by something like Interloper.

It's also really fucking fascinating while also being horrifying, because the fictional software and ideas it sets up have a liminal vibe in the sense they're familiar, but completely detached from reality- like one of those AI images that's a lot of things that LOOK familiar, but when you look closer, none of it is actually real. Honestly, it's actually very similar in concept to Ben Drowned, and very similar in execution to the latter half of Ben Drowned after they started the series again during the pandemic.

Personally, Badwater is probably my favourite. I sometimes find that ARG's can get pretty boring with a lot of filler content. So being more direct makes it still feel like an ARG but with a more streamlined, well made series of videos. Plus the contrast of the janky fake animations and the high quality, smooth animations for the living ragdoll scenes is awesome!

I left this comment under the bad water video about the scouts being tortured. I think 1) when he mentions something being taken away, he means his KZbin channel. He's not the one uploading the videos of our ragdolls. 2) each character is not a clone, but not always the same. We saw all the different deaths of the red scout from the same perspective for a reason. It's the same memory. Kinda like how the bendy series handles Henry. He has all the exact memories of his real counterpart, but he isn't the same. These ragdolls are the same but different. Supporting this is how bad water talks to the red scout one on one. It's mostly the same red scout, and so it would be how much he suffers, not how much they suffer.

Sure, badwater directly doing a villain speech to scout through text chat is a cheesy "tell, don't show" moment, but him turning back to see all the other versions of him dead as he's hanging after you get to see the first person perspective of some of them dying is kind of a legit mindfuck that redeems the scene entirely imo, and if you presented the scene exactly the same but without the text chat, it'd be actually amazing full stop since the visual is downright artistic and could have communicated badwater's psychotic hatred for scout _without_ words. Or, if you wanted to make clear that he was directly communicating with scout in that way, all he had to do was leave "I'm not going to let you take this away from me" in only, which is cold, to the point, raises questions, and makes him scarier.

ive actually realized as ive experimented , that with the gredwitch mod ( a gun and artillery mod in gmod) if you hold your physics gun and use one of the guns (just getting on the gun with e i mean ) your ray goes invisible , and your gun too , but if you change to something else that isnt in the first gun category it undoes the effect , So yes, this could be a really cool tip, for channels that do alot of these animations.the mod is called gredwitchs emplacement pack ,ive found that using 3 mortars at once then leaving them (without pressing e, just walking away i mean), can do the effect .

It seems all of those attempts to look in made black figure in the lake angry. He goes into the “lake” in the submerged constrict and then closes gmod, but when he tries to close it just puts him back into construct but its no longer submerged. Why? Well, probably for many reasons. From the top of my head: - Despite its age, Gmod remains a staple of many childhoods, even today, so it’s instantly relatable to the average viewer, giving an easy point of entry to scare people. - Gmod is just a source of hilarity in and of itself, with countless memes simply having Gmod footage simply be the punchline to a joke, if not also the setup as well, and ARG’s have quickly become the source of ridicule due to the insanely high volume we saw over the past few years, combined with the lack of quality many had, causing their collapse in popularity, and also resulting in many people probably wanting to parody the genre, and Gmod is one of the best ways to do so.

Melee intro music without SFX, which was never released up until Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - back then, the only way you could listen to the song was with that game's intro SFX.

The one thing that really caught me offguard with the Wiremod video was the fact that Gunslinger actually stayed true to the canon of the series being set around 2010. From the simple stuff like using CPU Boards over Expression 1/2, which was very much the case back then for most builders, as the CPU boards were seen as "more reliable" compared to the recently released Expression 1/2 and their respective coding languages. Another thing worth noting is the throwaway mention of GCombat, which hasn't been a mainstay combat addon since at the very least ~2014. The reason for this being that Armored Combat Framework or ACF, wasn't released to the masses until about 2012 or 2013, and was primarily an addon that was only available on the SomethingAwful community servers. Everything about this is telling me that whoever is behind Gunslingerpro2009 is definitely one of the old breed. If you end up reading this Gunslinger, cheers from one old fuck to another.

Ive never played this game, nor have I watched it played beyond a video talking about (and creating) a nextbot that stalks, chases, and attacks you. I never really knew many games had some decent ARG’s besides Minecraft tbh. I didn’t think this would be a rabbit hole I spent the last 12 hours on but here I am. Great video, man. Keep it up!
