Interdimensional cable is what you get when you lock a drunk Justin Roiland in a room with a tape recorder and then send the resulting tape to the animators with a note saying "draw this".

The "2 Brothers" trailer was actually improvised, thats why he laughs at the end

I believe all of the interdimensional cable elements were improvised by Justin Roiland's brain in the moment he was recording them.

Heh, this episode was essentially the show's take on improv comedy. As I recall, Roiland voiced the tv skits in advance, then let the animators interpret them in their own way.... leading to crazy stuff like how the "Two Brothers" trailer was depicted. Anyway, my personal favorite skit was always the Garfield one, mainly because of the conversation at the end about the voice actors, lol. And yes, this show indeed has continuity. All I can suggest is to keep watching to see how events will unfold.....

One of my favorite lines of the show. "Nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere, everybody's gonna die, come watch tv." Are u gonna keep reacting to the show?

There's something of a creed in him saying that which really resonates with me.

@@DreamFearless for sure, hearing that gives me like a feeling of relief, like it's freeing

I think that for sure this is one of the 'key-episodes' of the 1st season that get us attached to the show

The newest episode (season 6, episode 1) is mostly references to events in previous seasons. And its still good.
@jamesbuchanan19132 жыл бұрын
In the next few seasons it's like 30% continuity- 70% crazy interdimensional stuff. So maybe that can help you make your choice.

This show is like X-Files where there's a lot of self contained stuff, but an overarching story thread. It increases over time, but never goes full serialization. There will always be the stand alones.

I think the show keeps getting better each season especially with the story

There’s continuity in the earlier episodes, only it’s very subtle: -In the post credit scene of episode 4 Jerry gets fired, that always gets brought up -In episode 2 the dog they had leaves the house, so he’s never seen again
@LauraReactions2 жыл бұрын
I have to say you're wrong about the dog... We can see him on a painting in their dinner room (can't remember in which episode, but I didn't watch many after this one, so I think it can be find easily 🙈)

This isnt just a cartoon. It has continuity and strong tones. Get ready for another heavy moment in a future episode.

You react to what you want. Rick and morty is funny with a lot of seasons but you react to what grabs you. :)

I don't think it's too much spoilers (and you may have seen it already by now).... but yes, they will mention the bodies buried in the backyard in future episodes, and they will visit the "original" timeline where everyone but Morty's direct family turned into monsters. So you will get what you want :) - edit - I forgot it was this episode that had the graves, so you saw that already now lol.
