Nah, Power Rangers is older than Voltron. While it is true that Mighty Morphin first debuted in 1993 in the U.S., whereas Voltron came out in 1984, keep in mind the original Power Rangers is simply the western adaptation of the 16th season of the japanese Super Sentai franchise, which has been running since 1975, making it much older than Voltron.

If you want to go that route then know that Voltron is also an American adaptation of a japanese show called Beast King GoLion. Super sentai zyuranger first came out in 1992 while GoLion first came out in 1981. No matter how you slice it, Voltron predates Power Rangers

@@Ashurman666 huh, didn't actullay know that. however, that still doesn't mean voltron is older. you read the part of my comment where i said that mighty morphin is the adaptation of the 16th season of super sentai? the original super sentai came out in 1975, which still puts it solidly a whole 6 years before golion first debuted. and yes, they had the mecha from day one, meaning power ranger, or rather super sentai, is the the older combining robot franchise of the two. so, i'm sorry, but you're wrong.

In series where robots are piloted and combined (the concept of robots merging if I remember correctly has existed since Astro Boy but those were not robots piloted) it would be Getter Robo which were three Jets that came out in 74

@@thechatteringclown Anything before Zyuranger is irrelevant because none of them were adapted into Power Rangers. Also, you are wrong. The first Sentai team to have a giant robot was Battle Fever J which was the third entry in the franchise. The first two did not have giant robots. Again, you're confusing Super Sentai with Power Rangers when the two are separate entities. Besides, Sentai wasn't even the first series to use combining robots. So yes, Voltron does indeed predate Power Rangers

I loved the detail that the portal gun was useless in BP's mind, so Rick used the Mind-Blower to fuel the portal fluid, and shoot memory portals. It truly shows that every one-off gadget can have a use later on, and the writers don't abandon ideas from previous episodes when they would absolutely help then.

I am pretty sure the 8th episode is where we get the info on how close Rick was with Birdperson. Enough so he developed romantic feelings it seems. He lost his family and when he finally got close enough to someone to possibly feel love again he was turned down. It cuts deep. Birdperson having a daughter is awesome!

As much of a cool character Summer can be, I was kinda frustrated with how much Summer pushed Morty's warnings to the side and influenced Rick and the family into this Go-Tron crime family business. I mean the problem with Rick is that hes so jaded and chaotic that his irrational nihilism needs someone like Morty to even it out and keep him grounded however Summer idolises Rick too much and believes she can enable and control his irrational mindset but she sees how unchecked he can and how much she screwed up bu alienating her pwn family and pushing Rick to alienateher which is very poetic. I mean I feel like she got off way too easy?
