I remember watching The Nelsons when they had their TV show. It was very good. But when Ricky started singing on the show, wow it was great. I always enjoyed his music. Its hard to believe they are all gone. Such a wonderful close family. Rest in peace. Miss all of you.

@Annette - I was watching the night in April 1957 when Ricky 1st sang on the show, doing a cover of Fats Domino’s “I’m Walkin’ “. Did you see it? I’ve always had a lot of affection for all of the Nelson family.

this is what is missing in America today' families like Ozzie and Harriet are a treasure.thank God people from my generation can look back at what a family is supposed to look like. clean cut and have manners with no foul language.

They had problems like every other family. This includes divorces, substance abuse, and so forth. They had their share of tragedies especially surrounding the untimely death of Rick in 1985. They were NOT the stereotyped 1950s family. Harriet was never a housewife of any sort-she was a career woman up until her retirement from show business. Ozzie was a legendary workaholic. They employed a housekeeper who did the domestic work. Let's not assume what was on the television had anything to do with real life.

Many people just have no idea how talente Ozzie and Harriet were. They had a professional life long before TV came along

I LOVE THE NELSONS, IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN SCRIPTED ON TV, BUT THEY SUPPLIED AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE HOW FAMILIES CAN ACT TOWARD EACH OTHER

omg.. I'm in such denial. I mean, I'm aware this interview is from 1966..really I am.. I remember this like yesterday I was10 years old Watching this interview...As I sit here, I simply cannot believe where the time went. I loved , as many of us, seeing the Nelsons on tv then, and I still do! It somehow transforms me to wonderful times... Great seeing Mike Douglas too!

@hsmgeek4ever I have pt. 2 it is a big file and takes quite a while to load to youtube, but I will try and get it loaded tomorrow.
This say it was in 1966. But is my hearing off or what? It sounds like when Mike Douglaas shows the pricture of Ozzie & Harriet, he say it was taken back in 1975. Did I hear wrong? Sorry, just an observation.
