I don't think he invented them, it's been a while but if I said that in the video I misspoke. He popularized them within fashion, and they're his signature, but he doesn't own the concept or anything.

Okay I just rewatched this video to be sure I didn't misrepresent anything and I didn't, so maybe you only watched the beginning? I say early on that Owens didn't invent the silhouette, and even go through a timeline that traces it back 2,000 years.
