@@TeeheeTennessy yeah, I don't share many political opinions with Rick, God love 'em. Keep in mind, too, these videos are edited. If Rick rambles, or takes a long time "setting the table" for a question, then you just edit it out. But Rick's gift is that he takes his professional experience, he uses it to dig into his guest's process. When he makes some little comment or steers the answer somewhere deeper, with Rick, you now Rick can match whatever depth the guest can offer (ie, "I asked joanie Mitchell this ..." and "when will you use a piano, in your writing?", we know Rick could also give interesting answers to the same prompts).

@@wolfumz I was more refering to his conservative views on music xD. Rick is literally the best interviewer in this space. We get to hear inside the writing process in a way that only Rick seems to bring out of artists. I feel its because he is able to bridge the gap between an artist's creative and technical understanding and the audience. Rick seems to make artists feel so comfortable to talk so openly. I love this series. Great work Rick! Maynard is one of my all time favourite artists. His music changed the entire way I think about musical expression. His vocals are a powerful instrument that creates a counterpoint to help form the arrangement rather than simply following the melody. Hearing Maynard talk so freely is something special. Fans don't get to hear this very often. We appreciate it.

I love that his mind stays sharp, uncynical and sublime. Maynard's a valid voice in the vortex.

Rick is such a superb interviewer that I took a long time to notice the tangent about martial arts. Great conversation!

Maynard is such an interesting cat. I have zero interest in jujitsu and what not but I stayed for the whole thing. I want to apply more of that mind set to my own composing. Great job🤘

What I really love about this interview is Maynard shows how interconnected different aspects of his life are. The more well-rounded an individual, the easier it is to practice concepts, and the better one can know themselves.

Again one of the best interviews I've seen with Maynard and you can tell he was relaxed and was not trying to be to protective was very pleasant which can sometimes you not get
