Nathaniel is one of the most down to earth people I've seen. And he's just living in an apartment, going to his job at the guitar store, selling guitars, and playing guitar demos on the guitar yt channel. Meanwhile he's mind blowing on the instrument

@MarcCarriage121Ай бұрын
He's playing it in slower tempo here . I think Harrison played it at a tempo that wouldn't make the song sound incorrectly at the pace they were moving it through.
@rlawrence71Ай бұрын
Agree. I can fly around the fretboard to a degree and there's nothing wrong with that, but it's overrated and given too much credit by those who don't understand much about playing guitar. Jeff Beck did things subtly that many can't grasp. This player is demonstrating a deeper sophistication here. I wish I had the depth of chord knowledge and music theory overall that Rick and many of his guests have. I'm working at it.

Lately I've been paying attention to pick up height and I've realized for that sort of low volume smooth sound like he's demonstrating with the lp if you look at the pickups they are flush with the pickup frames. I adjusted my guitar that way and it really made a nice smooth sounding tone.
@DeutschlandGuyАй бұрын
04:39 Hey, don't knock Roland Street Cubes. I've had mine for years and love it. I too play Solo (chord melody) guitar at home, and it does a fantastic job. If I want to go to the park down the street and play a bit, the 8 AA battery pack does the trick. I use rechargeables and a charge will last for hours. Still priced at only about $550, they are a bargain. I've never had a lick of trouble. I recently installed a Go Acoustic pickup system (with individual transducers on each string) on my nylon string guitar and it sounds incredible played through my Street Cube. The guitar played through the Roland sounds like the unamplified tone... but just louder. Great! ✊👍✌

@@bjornopitz6561similar experience, honestly Dawes is incredible. Nathaniel has such ease, is fundamentally so strong - he and Greg Koch - nothing is out of reach for them. They seem to have a direct connection to the instrument and music itself! Dawes is in that league, for certain. The idea of “best” is stupid.

For In My Life I put a capo on the second fret and voilá! I play that song in G, it´s not that dificult, except for the George Martin baroque clavinet solo. I dpn´t use behind the nut bendings, tapping or any "tricks". But I Saw Her Standing There played this way is REALLY technically chalenging. Tommy Emmanuel does that kind of stuff in a great way too.

I remember Bill Frissell releasing an album of John Lennon's songs (some Beatles, some solo Lennon). They were not solo guitar, but were obviously guitar centric. Bill stated at the time that Lennon's songs proved to be far from straightforward to play on guitar.
